Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de concentration de minerai, en particulier de minerai orifère. Ce procédé comprend des étapes consistant: à acheminer jusque dans la zone de traitement un courant de la boue à traiter contenant des grains du minerai de valeur ainsi que des particules de minerai stérile; à créer une couche piège dans la zone de traitement, laquelle est chargée de grains du minerai de valeur. Pendant le procédé de chargement, les propriétés de piégeage de la couche sont régénérées par la création d'une résistance hydraulique, inégale sur la longueur et la largeur du courant, au flux longitudinal du courant, et des tourbillons stationaires sont générés dans la partie inférieure du courant, l'axe de rotation des tourbillons étant à un angle donné par rapport au sens du flux. Les tourbillons agissent sur les particules dans la phase solide de la boue avec une vitesse orbitale supérieure à la vitesse de chute des grains dans le minerai de valeur. A mesure que le courant s'écoule dans la zone de traitement, il est incliné dans le sens transversal et un courant hélicoïdal est généré, l'axe de ce courant suivant la direction du courant incliné. Le dispositif de l'invention destiné à concentrer un minerai utile comprend une partie d'entrée ainsi qu'au moins une partie supplémentaire (1, 2 respectivement) jointes en séquence, la partie supplémentaire (2) étant inclinée par rapport à la partie d'entrée dans n'importe quelle direction, de manière que l'angle (α1) entre les axes longitudinaux respectifs (a et b1) des deux parties se situe entre 0,5 et 45°, des riffles (10) se trouvant dans les structures (8) dans ladite partie supplémentaire (2) étant inclinés dans une direction opposée à la direction d'inclinaison de cette partie (2) par rapport à la partie d'entrée (1), et formant un angle (β1) avec les parois latérales (4) de la partie supplémentaire (2) de manière qu'elles forment un angle aigu (η1) avec les riffles (9) dans la partie d'entrée (1).
