Abstract
An implantable intervertebral connector device for correcting postural defects of the spine in some cases of kyphosis, lordosis, scoliosis or vertebral instability. The device comprises a fixing screw (1) for anchoring in the vertebral pedicles, a connecting plate (7) for rigidly connecting the vertebrae, hemispherical washers (6) for adjusting the angular position of the plate and adapting the distances between the vertebrae, a nut (10) for locking the whole assembly, and one or more shock-absorbing members (12). The device is characterised in that the distance between the vertebrae, the lateral position and the angular position of the connecting plate may be adapted easily during surgery without direct handling and without using instruments of any kind. For this purpose, the plate is specially designed to include oblong holes (8) with suitably spaced recesses (9) arranged along both sides thereof for receiving a hemispherical washer (6). The washer is shaped like a hemispherical ring and comprises an axially eccentric bore. The components of the device are assembled by means of a self-locking nut (10) screwed onto the head of the screw (1). The device comprises one or more shock-absorbing members and the plates may be planar or curved as required.

Les faces de la plaque sont symétriques par rapport à son plan médian.
