  • the generally annular guide surface 18 has circumferentially spaced arcuate portions of constant radius, and also includes inwardly projecting cam portions of smaller radial spacing from axis 16, and which are effective to apply radial inward force on the tongues 15 when the pipe coupling is converted to the clamping mode.
  • the tongues 15 are preferably of identical construction, and the inner diameter of the collet 14 and of tongues 15 are designed to provide a tolerance fit at a greater diameter than that of pipe section 11, to allow insertion of the pipe section 11, when the pipe coupling is in the release mode.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un raccord de tuyauterie (10) destiné à recevoir une extrémité d'un tronçon de tuyau (11). Le raccord de tuyauterie comprend un corps tubulaire (12) muni en une extrémité d'un embout femelle (13), dans laquelle s'adapte une douille de serrage (14) élastiquement déformable d'un ensemble de languettes de serrage circomférentiellement espacées (15) et placées généralement parallèlement à l'axe du corps tubulaire. Lesdites languettes comportent des dents de serrage (17) s'étendant vers l'intérieur et conçues pour serrer la périphérie externe du tronçon de tuyau (11) lorsque ce dernier est introduit dans l'embout femelle. Cet embout (13) présente une surface de guidage (18) tournée vers l'intérieur et pouvant venir en contact dans au moins une partie de la périphérie externe des languettes (15), ladite surface de guidage présentant un profil tel que l'on puisse imprimer une rotation à la douille (14) par rapport à celle-ci selon un angle relativement faible autour de l'axe (16) du raccord de tuyau. Ainsi, ledit raccord peut être utilisé soit un mode de libération soit un mode de serrage par rapport au tronçon de tuyau (11).
