Description

Passenger transport vehicle service monitor
and control device
The subject of the utility model is a passenger transport vehicle service monitor and control device.
It is known, e.g. from the utility model description No.91493, that there is a control device having in the housing a board with a microcontroller equipped with terminals, to which a board with optical indicators and a display in the housing window is attached. Over the microcontroller board a multi-position knob switch is situated, visible through the hole in the wall. Through this wall a single-wired remote control bus of at least one ticket-validator is routed, connected to the microcontroller board terminals. The control buttons are connected to this board passing through the holes in the housing wall. This known device meets, in principle, the ticket-validator control task, but does not satisfy the control and monitor requirements with a fuller range of the passenger transport vehicle service functions.
In accordance with the utility model, the passenger transport vehicle service monitor and control device having in the housing the microcontroller board, optical indicators, the reading element, the set of control buttons and connectors, fitted with the remote control bus and the supply network, is characterized by the fact that the main electronics board and the interior battery are attached to the base of the housing consisting of the base and the cover, the cover, the microcontroller module with the slot into which the insertable, semi-conductor memory card is inserted on the main electronics board, and beside it there is a slot containing the insertable vehicle driver identification key; the insertion holes into both slots are located in the cut-outs of the front base wall, the outside connector and the power-switch are situated in the holes of the rear base wall, the keyboard plate is attached to the cover, the liquid-crystal display module is attached to the keyboard plate and the keys, the liquid-crystal display and display diodes extend through the holes in the front, slant cover wall, the microcontroller module, the vehicle driver identification key slot and the outside connector are joined directly to the main electronics board, and the keyboard plate is jointed to it through the inside connectors, the semi - conductor memory card slot is connected directly to the microcontroller module, and the liquid-crystal display module and the diodes are connected to the keyboard plate ; the interior baterry is buffor connected to the mains, and the passenger service equipment control three-wired bus and the vehicle operating and service parameter sensors are joined to the outside connector. In addition, the printer module is attached on and connected to the main electronics board, and the cover features a profiled recess for the printer paper roll, shielded with a guard. The keyboard keys are shielded with transparent cover plates on which the keys functions are described.
The device in accordance with the utility model provides the control of the ticket-validators operation and monitoring of their efficiency, the identification of the vehicle driver, the vehicle blocking without the driver identification key, the acquisition of information about the vehicle operation during the whole day, such as: the road, speed, number of validations, monitoring of the ride conformity with the time-table, informing the driver about this conformity, acquisition of information about the vehicle engine operation, such as, e.g. revolutions, oil pressure, temperature. The arrangement of the constituent parts of the device in accordance with the utility model enables relatively small dimensions of the device, good inclusion into the dashboard of the vehicle within easy reach of the driver's hands and does not impede the accessibility to the vehicle controls.
The subject of the utility model is depicted in the drawing : figure 1 shows the general view of the device, figure 2 its section with a vertical plane perpendicular to the front and rear walls of the base, and figure 3 presents the top view of the device interior, with removed cover and the elements attached to it. The main electronics board 2 and the interior battery 3 are attached to the housing base 1. The microcontroller module 4 with the semi-conductor memory card 6 slot 5 are mounted on the board 2. The card 6 is inserted into the slot 5. The driver identification key 8 slot 7 is installed beside the microcontroller module 4 on the board 2. The key is inserted into the slot 7. The insertion holes into the slots 5 and 7 come out throught the cut-outs in the front wall of the base 1.
The outside connector 9 and the power-switch 10 are situated in the holes of the rear wall of base 1. The keyboard plate 12 is attached to the cover 11 of the housing and the liquid-crystal display 14 module 13 is attached to the keyboard plate. The keyboard keys 15 , the display 14 and the display diodes 16 extend through the holes in the holes in the front slant wall of the cover 11. The microcontroller module 4, the identification key 8 slot 7 and the outside connector 9 are connected to the main electronics board 2. The keyboard plate 12 is connected to the main board 2 through the inside connectors 17. The memory card 6 slot 5 is connected directly to the microcontroller module 4. The display 14 module 13 and the display diodes 16 are connected to the keyboard plate 12. The interior battery 3 is buffer connected to the supply network not shown in the drawing. The passenger service equipment remote control three-wired bus and the vehicle operating parameter sensor not shown in the drawing are also jointed to the outside connector 9. The printer 19 module 18 is mounted on and connected to the main board 2 through the inside connectors 17. The covers 11 features, a profiled recess 20 for the printer 19 paper roll shieled with a guard 21.
The driver identification key is required in order to start the vehicle. Every driver employed by the transport company has his own personal key 8 designed for this purpose. Each device, in accordance with the utility model, installated in a given vehicle has its own individual memory card 6 with the vehicle time-table recorded on it, together with its identification number, the date and other identification data. After the card 6 has been inserted into the slot 5, the device reads the time-table from the card, and during the ride it records on the report about the driver's perfomance and the whole system of the vehicle and passenger service.
During the ride the card 6 and key 8 remain inserted in their slots. The device monitors on a continuous basis the operation of the ticket-validators and in case of a failure it warns about it by giving a sound signal, and showing the number of the faulty validator, and a short description of the failure in the display 14. The display 14 shows currently: the course number, the route number, the right time, the name of the present stop and delay or the gain in time as compared to the time planned in accordance with the time-table. The vehicle engine operating parameters are periodically monitored and recorded onto the card 6. If necessary, the driver, using the printer 19 prints the tickets having the poss ibi l i ty of choosing the number, fare, tariff zone, etc. The whole control and monitoring system is supplied from the vehicle onboard mains through safety devices.
In case of a decay or exceedance of the limit allowable voltage of the onboard supply network, the device in accordance with the utility model will disconnect the ticket validators, and it itself will go on working being supplied from the interior baterry 3.
Having returned to the base, the driver will hand over the memory card 6 to the dispatcher of the transport company. The report read from it provides a data source to the company managing system.
