Definitions

  • the invention concerns a selfcontained personal ionizer of air for permanent, carrying by the user which serves as a means of prevention and relief, especially to people with allergy and asthma.
  • Personal ionizers are devices known at present which improve the living environment around the user. As soon as it was shown that the results in relief and preventin of diseases are multiplied of the ions are delivered permanently 24 hours a day, the necessity arose to develope an ionizer for this purpose.
  • the known ionizers of the selfcontained type mostly use replaceable dry cells for feeding. Operating the ionizers permanently, the cells would be quickly discharged because, with respect to the necessity of low weight of ionizers, always small types of 'cells must be used. It would be possible to use rechargeable cells, however, it results in detrimental pauses in the permanent use or one must have two ionizers for the change, minimum.
  • the aim of the invention is to create a personal ionizer for permanent use which has a low energy consumption and which can be recharged during the night, delivering ions to the user at the same time, and having sufficient reserves for the reliable operation during the day.
  • Another aim of the invention is to create a lace for hanging the ionizer on the neck of the user, this lace having mecessary electric properties which do not vary after hygienic cleaning.
  • the new lace at the same time simplifies the night charging at the user s bed.
  • Another aim of the invention is to reach the control of the ionic emission, as it if often necessary, for the purpose of the use in prevention to lower the emission to the level which occurs in healthy localities in free nature.
  • a simple control of the emission by changing the voltage on the emission needle is not possible because the emission ceases abruptly at lowering the voltage, without sufficient regulation space, and, besides, it strongly depends on the outer conditions, for instance on the humidity and temperature of air, presence of air pollution and like.
  • Personal ionizers are mostly provided with ion-emitting needles to which the high voltage is applied. This voltage is produced by some type of oscillator with miniature transformer, the secondary winding of which increases the feeding voltage to several hundreds volt. Using a cascade of diodes and capacitors the needed final voltage is then reached.
  • the power consumption of the ionic emission itself is negligible from the energetic point of view, it reaches the value of the order of ⁇ W or less.
  • the input of the oscillator is therefore given largely by its losses. With existing generators which were not constructed for continuous operation these losses represented no problem, and routine components and procedures could be used; at uninterrupted 24 hour operation, however, they appeared to be the key obstacle.
  • the object of this invention is the personal ionizer of air with improved properties consisting of a case which is in its upper part, facing at application to the mouth of the user, provided with a window of the output of ions, .of an ion-emitting point, of a high voltage source on an insulating assembly board, of an accumulator battery, of a strap as hanger on the neck of the user, of manipulation and indication means.
  • the ferite pot-type core consisting of the first core part and second core part inside of their hollow spaces the winding is placed, between this winding and inner walls of the ferite pot-type core being, by arbitrary means, formed the air gap, the shortest radial dimension of which is from 1/3 to 1/2 of the circumferential wall thickness of the ferite pot-type core.
  • the ferite pot-type core being fixed in the insulating assembly board at the distance of its circumferential wall from the upper edge of the insulating assembly board equal or longer than 1/4 of the outer diameter of the ferite pot-type core.
  • the assembly insulating board there is inserted the insulating plate of the voltage multiplier, having the insulation resistance higher than 10 ohm and 10 ohm per square, the first column of holes in it, facing the ferite pot-type core, has from the outer wall of the ferite pot-type core the distance equal at least to 1/4 of its outer diameter, this insulating plate of the voltage multiplier carrying the connection of the minus pole of high voltage to the ion-emitting needle via the series resistor, further there is on the insulating assembly board arranged the area of printed connections, the uper edge of which is distant from the outer circumferential wall of the ferite pot-type core and from the lower row of holes in the insulating plate of the voltage multiplier at least 1/4 of the outer diameter of the ferite pot-type core, wherein the high voltage source placed on the insulating assembly board is inserted into the case, which case is on its sides provided with a strap as lace on the neck of the user and which has in. its upper part the
  • An inevitable component of the selfcontained personal ionizer is the lace on the neck of the user.
  • This lace is electricaly connected to the plus pole of the high voltage source and, besides the mechanical service, it mediates, at least partly, the closing of the outer electrical circuit for the emitted ions, since otherwise irregularities appear or the ionic emission ceases.
  • the electrical resistance of the lace is therefore chosen to lie in the region of about 10 10 ohm, that means that either natural organic material like leather or some sort of plastics are used.. From hygienic reason the lace must be from time to time cleaned what consequently results in undefined changes of its electrical resistance.
  • the combined lace was created, consisting of electrostaticaly conductive leather strap in tha part exposed to ionic stream, and of part formed by metallic chain, adhering to the back portion of the user s neck.
  • the connection of both parts is dismountable and safe against incident disjoining, being at the same time electricaly conductive.
  • the metallic part may be without complications connected to some electricaly conducting object in the vicinity of the user s bed during his sleep, like to metallic tubing or simply to a nail in tha wall.
  • the ionizer works then properly and emits ions to the user, securing his 24 hour protection.
  • the case of the ionizer can be formed of the insulating material which is on the side facing to the body of the user at least .partly formed of electrostatically conductive material or which is on the side facing to the body of the user surface treated for electrostatic conductivity.
  • Lowering of the ion emission or setting it to the determined level is achieved, according to this invention, by using a plate from insulating material which is on the side facing the emission needle treated to be conductive on the surface and connected with the plus pole of the high voltage source.
  • the plate is then sym etricaly inserted into the window for the output of ions in the case of the ionizer.
  • the plate allows the control of the outer emission of ions in broad limits, according to its area.
  • the rest of the emission circulates inside the cover.
  • the ionizer in this arrangement works reliably even at lower voltage of the needle than normally, supporting in this way the prolongation of operation time. Insulating plate without conductive treatment does not work properly, it causes only that full ionic emission changes its previous direction.
