It can thus be seen, that by providing a drain channel within the neck support means, any small quantities which may escape and otherwise flow on to the neck of the user of the bowl, thereby causing irritation will be prevented.

  • a busy hairdressing salon or hospital, or other user of the support of the present invention would possibly use many of the supports thereby creating a need for a space efficient method of storage.
  • the notch 22 does not interfere with the operation of the drain valve 15.
  • the support 20 also includes a pair of drainage channels 26 located on either side of the neck supporting internal platform 8.

  • the construction of the bowl can be variously from injection moulded plastics, rotationally moulded plastics, foam moulded plastics or the like, and can be moulded from materials which provide a resilient surface to assist in comfort for a patient.
  • the head of the patient can still be lifted slightly for washing at the back of the head but because this will not involve significant altering of the angular relationship of the head with the body, the chances of hyperextension or undue manipulation will be significantly reduced.

Abstract

Chez les personnes agées, une extension excessive de la nuque tel qu'elle risque de se produire lors du lavage des cheveux dans des salons de coiffure ou dans tout autre lieu où la personne est en position assise, est désormais considérée comme dangeureuse, car il existe un risque de blocage de l'afflux de sang au cerveau. Cette invention se rapporte à un support de lavage des cheveux qui réduit au minimum les risques d'extension excessive de la nuque. Ce support pour le lavage des cheveux comprend une cuvette (1), qui comporte une base à partir de laquelle s'étend une paroi circonférentielle droite (2, 3, 4, 5), laquelle définit l'intérieur de la cuvette. Dans la paroi est inclus un support (6) pour la nuque, et une plate-forme inclinée (8) s'étend vers le bas à partir dudit support pour la nuque, cette plate-forme inclinée pouvant servir de support pour le dos. Ainsi, lors de l'utilisation, le support pour la nuque et la plate-forme inclinée coopèrent pour soutenir le dos et la nuque de l'utilisateur du dispositif en question, sans qu'il y ait d'extension excessive de la nuque.
