Abstract
A punchbag configuration with an inner circumference portion area (8), with an all round, obtuse angled, cavity indentation, from an inner circumference portion to the outer circumference of the punchbag's external configuration. This creates the inner circumference neck portion which comprises of an external circular width band (1), placed in its designated area (8), creates two adjoined portions of this punchbag unit, which simulates a human, bodylike configuration, e.g. head, chin, neck, shoulders, main torso. This allows the user to practice inclined blows such as the uppercut. Also incorporated within the punchbag there is an internal structure with the purpose to compact all of the portions into one secure, tight unit.
Description
IMPROVED PUNCH/KICK BAG TECHNICAL FIELD
This invention relates to a punching bag configuration and its internal and external construction. DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION
This punchbag has been specially designed to allow the user to master all Boxing and Martial Arts impact punches and Karate kicking techniques and is also used as an Aerobic training bag for exercising for strength and stamina. It can also be used for practising Self-Defence techniques.
This punchbag has a combined, inner circumference, portioned neck, which highlights a head portion and an ideal, angled punch/kick area within the bags' configuration.
This punchbag has the facility to include a variety of incline punches, known better in the boxing profession as the uppercut. A variety of Boxing and Karate kicks and blows can be inflicted within a simulated area of realism. This area is incorporated within a significant area on the punchbags' configuration to create body-like target areas (head, chin, neck, shoulders, main torso).
This bag has incorporated an internal, strengthening structure, which also has the purpose of absorbing the shock from a powerful blow inflicted from the external side of the bag.
This internal structuring will stop the circumferenced, indentation and the overall configuration of the punchbag,
from losing its shape. This will ensure that the whole punchbag will remain compact and tight after absorbing constant and powerful blows. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Figure 1 shows in perspective, the whole, external, assembled punchbag configuration and one method of illustrated use;
Figure 2 shows part of the punchbags external makings, which includes a circular, width band, with a planned inner circumference measurement from the outer circumference configuration of the bag;
Figure 3 shows the makings of the internal strengthening structure and the sequence of its assemblage;
Figure 4 shows the overall perspective plan of the internal, strengthening structure and its full working assemblage. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
Referring to the drawings, the punch/kick bag comprises of an external bag configuration and has incorporated an internal structure and in part, an external structure.
The punch/kick bag comprises of standard, punchbag filling and in part, it has incorporated two circular, internal strengthening spacers with a central cable channel 4 and 5. Back of these spacers are situated in the top portion of the bag, Fig. 4.
A cable is passed centrally through the middle of the
bag 2. Attached to this cable is a jamming system 3, Fig. 3.
On the under-side of the punchbags configuration, there is located a centre reinforced rimmed, through-hole 7, Fig. 4. The bottom end of the central cable, with its attached jamming, connecting system 2 and 3, is affixed to the under¬ side, through-hole of the base of the punchbags configuration 7.
The central cable is now affixed securely to the base of the punchbag. This cable runs centrally through the main four combined, internal structures, which include 1, 4, 5 and 6, Fig. 4.
Located externally on the punchbags configuration, is a circular, width band 1, Fig. 4, and it is situated around portion 8. The inner circumference band 1, Fig. 2, allows the external formation of an all round, obtuse angled, indentation area 8, Fig. 4.
The central cable protrudes from the top of the internal structures and is channelled through a plate-like structure with a combined, cable jamming system 6, Figs 3 and 4. This is placed on top of the fully constructed bag, Fig. 4. The pressure plate 6 will evenly apply pressure against all of the internal structures 1, 4 and 5, with the assistance of the anchored cable at the base of the punchbag 3 and 7, Fig. 4.
When the main cable is extracted to a required tautness between the pressure plate 6 and the base of the punchbags, anchored cable 3 and 7 the cable jamming system within the
pressure plate can now be applied to secure a tight and compact formation of the fully, constructed punchbag unit, Fig. 4.
Claims
1. A punch/kick bag comprising a substantially cylindrical body incorporating a reduced diameter neck region separating an upper head portion and a lower body portion of the bag, the transition between the neck portion and the head portion defining an upwardly and outwardly extending surface against which inclined punches can be inflicted.
