Abstract

Disclosed is a fastening element (14) with two mutually pivotable jaws (26, 28) which, for example, can be detachably fastened to articles of baby clothing, where one of the jaws (28) may be controlled using a lever (20) linked to the fastening element (14), and with a cap piece (10) which essentially covers the fastening element (14). The cap piece (10) can be connected to the lever or to one of the jaws (78) and turned relative to the one or the other about an axis (8).
