Based on the keys pressed and a predetermined protocol, the main processor 70 processes a ticket purchase transaction and outputs ticket purchase data to the printer 36 and the display 38 via the interface device 40, the telephone lines 20, and the data modem 34. In the event that a product is ordered rather than a ticket, the main processor 70 processes the product purchase transaction and outputs product purchase data to the printer 36. Abstract

Système téléphonique comprenant au moins un poste terminal téléphonique éloigné (30) permettant d'acheter et d'imprimer des billets de lotterie, des billets d'avion ainsi que des tickets pour des événements sportifs et des concerts, et permettant également d'acheter des produits d'un magasin, d'imprimer des reçus pour ces achats et d'imprimer des coupons. Ce système comprend un ordinateur central relié par des lignes téléphoniques à des postes terminaux téléphoniques éloignés. L'ordinateur central (10) et chaque poste terminal téléphonique éloigné (30) peut se trouver à n'importe quel endroit où un service téléphonique est disponible; cependant, les postes terminaux éloignés sont de préférence situés dans les domiciles ou les bureaux des abonnés du système téléphonique. Chaque poste terminal comprend un téléphone muni d'un clavier à boutons (32), un modem (34), une imprimante servant à imprimer les caractères sur le ticket (36), ainsi qu'un dispositif d'affichage (38).
