The electronic unit for the automatic control of electrochromic rear-view vehicle mirrors comprises photosensors, a comparator circuit, an amplifier and a power unit. The latter is in the form of a pulse voltage stabilizer and may also contain a unit for forcing the supply of power to the mirror's operating component. The electronic unit disclosed reduces power consumption, thus improving the unit's bulk-thermal characteristics. In addition, the unit for forcing the supply of power allows the blackout time of the mirror to be reduced by a factor of two to three.
