Definitions
- the object of the invention is a play-mark, which is used e.g. for marking the situation and points, and also to assist in counting points in different games, especially dart games.
- the play-mark is thus also called a dart-mark or tau.
- Darts is a popular game, traditionally played in pubs. Today more and more people have purchased their own dartboards, on which dozens of different entertaining games can be played. Darts is one of the most inexpensive hobbies.
- the purpose of this invention is to create a device, a play-mark, with which the equipment used in many dart games for marking the points and the situation, e.g. a chalk-board can be replaced.
- the invention is also most advantageous, since no wearing parts, like chalk, are needed. No allergenic chalk dust is formed.
- the use of the invention does not require electricity, which would increase the expenses and limit the use e.g. at summer homes.
- Figures 1A, IB and 1C show a play-mark in accordance with the invention displayed from the side and axonometrically from two directions
- Figures 2A - 2 I show symbols on the heads of the play-marks
- Figure 3 shows positioning of play-marks on the dartboard
- Figure 4 shows an example of the use of play-marks in 'Killer'
- Figures 5A and 5B show examples of the use of play-marks in '501'.
- a play-mark 10 in accordance with the invention is presented from the side and axonometrically.
- a play-mark 10 consists of a head 11 and a pin 12 or of another part with which it can be attached to a dartboard 30.
- a pin 12 can be attached to the head 11 or the pin 12 and the head 11 can be made together of one, e.g. brass piece, e.g. by using a lathe.
- the diameter and height of the e.g. cylindrical head 11 of a play-mark 10 are about 5-20 mm.
- the shape, colour and size of a play-mark 10 can vary, but in its design the easy manageability and visibility on the board are to be taken into consideration.
- the thickness of the pin 12 is about 1.0 to 2.0 mm and its length is about 5 to 20 mm. With a pin 12 or a corresponding part the play-mark 10 can be attached to a dartboard 30 or to another surface for marking of the situation.
- Figures 2A - 2 I present some exemplary solutions for head symbols 20.
- a symbol 29 can e.g. be inlaid, engraved or printed on the head 11.
- the symbol 20 can include the numbers 100 (21), 10 (22) or 1 (23) e.g. in words or in the corresponding Roman numerals. If the numbers 21 , 22, 23 are placed inside separate circles, points 1, 2 and 3 can also be received by counting the number of the circles. The points can also be marked in figures.
- a symbol 20 can also contain other words, numbers or pictures.
- the exemplary solution contains the Japanese words shepherd 24, fisherman 25 and hunter 26, which can be seen to depict the character of their master, the player.
- the symbols 20 or the heads 11 can be of different colours for different players.
- a player has usually 1 to 3 play-marks 10 with e.g. the same Japanese word. If there is no word 24, 25, 26 in a symbol 20, the play-marks of a player can be distinguished from the other players' marks 10 by the colour, shape or size of the head 11 or the symbol 20.
- Figure 3 presents the placing of play-marks 10 on the dartboard 30.
- the outer circle of the dartboard is a double-band 32
- the inner circle is a treble-band 33 and in the middle there is the bull's eye, the centre 34 of which scores 50 points and the outer bull 35 is for 25 points.
- the play-marks 10 are attached to the board outside the sector 31, which needs to be marked, usually between the double-band 32 and the number circle 36 so that they do not hamper the game.
- the play- marks 10 removed from the game are moved outside the number circle 36 or are totally removed from the board 30. Play-marks can also be used on other surfaces, e.g. in a dart-game called 'Noughts and Crosses'.
- Figure 4 presents an example of the use of play-marks 10 in 'Killer'.
- the opponent tries for sector 11 and his play- marks 10 are outside that sector. He has two hits in the sector and a play-mark with two number circles 22 has been moved closer to the double-band 32.
- Figures 5A and 5B present an example of the use of play-marks 10 in '501 '.
- the players At the opening (figure 5A) the players have 501 points 40, which are marked with the play-marks as units 23, tens 22 and hundreds 21 outside the sectors. Zero can be marked outside sectors 10 or 20.
- player A has 418 and player B 364 points 41.
- the play- marks of different players can be distinguished by e.g. the colour, shape or size 24, 25 of the symbol 20 or the head 11.
