- the invention is explained using a hot air balloon. In principle, however, it is suitable for any lifting gas that does not have to be recovered at the end of a flight, but can be abandoned (at least in an emergency).

Burner and seat are attached to the envelope by a support structure. The previously usual top opening is replaced by side valves. These enable, among other things, a safer descent with a slight ride, instead of turning when using a single side valve or a pair of swirls. This type of landing is particularly suitable for light winds. On the other hand, when the wind is completely calm and the landing direction is exactly vertical, it is sufficient to switch off the burner or reduce its output.
