Abstract

It is an objective of this invention to obtain a bioactive hydroxyapatite film-coated body implant component which exhibits an excellent body tissue compatibility, sufficiently high strengths, and a high design freedom. The implant component (11) is a molded product derived from an elastomer containing 10-80 wt%, preferably 40-70 wt%, of an inorganic filler, and the surface of said elastomer has a segment which has been coated with hydroxyapatite which has been deposited from a virtually saturated or supersaturated aqueous solution of hydroxyapatite.
