Abstract

In a fax machine for transmitting and receiving wide images comprising structure (4, 6, 8) for scanning the image; mirrors (10, 12) for receiving and reflecting said scanned image; a charge couple device (16) for receiving an image and producing a digitized signal; and a camera lens (14) for receiving said scanned image reflected from said mirrors and focusing said scanned image onto said charge couple device so as to produce a digitized signal for transmission through said telephone wire. The fax machine includes staggered thermal printing heads (3, 4) for printing wide images.
