Abstract

Device for tracing a removable partial dental plate characterized in that it is comprised of: means for displaying (15, 16, 19) the positioning of the teeth still in place in the mouth of the patient; calculation means (17) for the recurrent determination of the theoretical ideal tracing of the removable dental plate as a function, on the one hand, of the positioning of the teeth still in place, inputted during the preceding step, and on the other hand, brackets of physiological values previously inputted into said calculation means; input means (18) for introducing clinical particularisms proper to the mouth of the patient being treated; calculation means (17) for plotting the final theoretical tracing of the plate as a function, on the one hand, of the clinical particularisms and, on the other hand, of the physiological brackets of values.

Description

DEVICE FOR SETTING THE TRACK PLATE DENTAIR PARTIAL REMOVABLE

The present invention relates to a device for establishing the path of a removable partial dental plaque.

By "partial plaque" is meant within the meaning of the invention and claims a plaque adapted to be removably secured on at least two teeth still present -in one of the two arches of the mouth of a patient .

To date, removable partial dental plates are made from a trace obtained from an impression of the arch of the mouth of pa¬ holds. The plot of the actual plate is norma¬ LEMENT directed by the physician based on clinical and physiological data considered arch. However, practitioners are less able to carry out this plot and generally leave it up to the technicians. This requires taking the employment of highly qualified personnel account the objectives set for the route of the plate. These objectives can be summarized mainly in morphological perfect adaptation to the patient's mouth on the one hand and the other hand to a efficacec maintaining said plaque on the teeth remaining in place in the patient's mouth, maintaining however leaving it possible removability of said plaque, particularly for its cleaning.

The present invention is to provide a device able to allow any layman practitioner to achieve plots of removable dental plates, more economical in their realization on the one hand and also better suited the morphological point of view. The device for establishing the path of a removable partial dental plate according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises:

- means for displaying the positioning of the teeth still in place in the patient's mouth;

- a computing means for recursively determining the theoretical ideal alignment of the removable dental plate according to a part of the positioning teeth still in place, introduced during the preceding step, and on the other band physiological values ​​previously entered in said calculating means;

- means for introducing clean clinical peculiarities in the patient's mouth during treatment;

- a calculation means for restoring the theoretical final route of the plate according to a portion of these clinical peculiarities and other physiological ranges.

In other words, the present invention is characterized in that which we equip a data entry system, in this case the still remaining teeth in the patient's mouth, a calculation device adapted according to criteria pre-set to deliver instantaneously a theoretical plot of plaque, which more just waiting to be adapted according to the clinical peculiarities of a patient.

In a preferred embodiment, the means for displaying the positioning of the teeth still in place in the patient's mouth is constituted by a screen which is capable of moving a cursor, screen associated with a microcomputer and a body validation, to validate the data according to the cursor position. In another embodiment, the calculation means for determining the theoretical ideal route e theoretical final route of the plaque are constituted by a microcomputer which of operation steps are dictated by appropriate software.

According to the invention, the means for introducing clinical peculiarities of a patient is made pa a keyboard associated with said microcomputer.

The ranges of physiological values ​​introdui your in computing means for determining the theoretical ideal jitters of the plate relate respectivemen hooks for attaching the plate, hair pins for securing the plate to the saddle of positioning teeth, characteristics tional dimension of the seat itself and the curvature of the plate.

How the invention may be carried out, e the advantages thereof will appear better from the exemplary embodiment which follows given purely illustrative and non-limiting in the attached figures.

Figure 1 is a schematic view of a plaque in place, carried out according to the technique called "damped chassis".

Figure 2 is also a schematic view of a plaque in place, carried out according to the technique known KENNEDY, APPLEGATE. Figure 3 is a simplified diagram of the device according to the invention.

According to the invention, and in accordance with représenta¬ tion of Figure 1, plaque carrying the general refer- ence (1) consists of several elements. Besides actual plaque indicated generally réfé¬ No. (2) and intended to match the morphology of the palate, whether the mandibular arch or of the upper arch, the dental plaque is kept on the teeth still remaining in the patient's mouth, and with the part (3) to (6) by brackets (7) and supports (8) by 1'intermédiaire of brackets (9). These different elements namely hooks, supports and brackets are made of alloys based on cobalt, nickel and chromium, of course non-toxic.

Artificial teeth, thus missing, are positioned on a saddle (10) connected to the dental plate (2) via a hairpin (11) also made from the same cobalt alloy, nieke1, chrorne.

According to the invention, the manner in which are connected brackets (9) and the hairpin (11) to the dental plate (2), as well as the positioning of the bearing points of the hooks are subject to physio forks ¬ particular logic designed firstly to allow a better morphological adaptation of the dental plaque to the morphology of the patient's mouth and on the other hand a better reversible retaining said plate on the remaining teeth.

According to the present invention, when a practitioner wishes to proceed with the implementation of a plaque plot of a particular patient, it first conducts the survey of different teeth remaining in place in the arcade regarded the mouth of patient. It is provided with a microcomputer (17) which is associated a screen (15) visualizing a full arch, that is to say, sixteen teeth. This screen is associated with a validation element (16), in the case of cash a cursor associated mouse (19) moving on the screen according to the practitioner wishes. The practitioner can move the cursor (19) s missing teeth and validates (16), p example the push button of said validation means in order to introduce in the memory of LP computer (17) the positioning of the teeth remaining.

The microcomputer includes a micro-processe run specialized software and adapted to track plaque. This software allows the re particular screen of drawing a plaque e function of a part of data input by the practitioner on the various remaining teeth dan the patient's mouth, and the other based on physiological ranges mentioned above, by making integral tie the software data. It is noted that besides the physiological ranges already men tioned, they also concern charac dimensional tick the saddle and the curvature of the plaque itself.

In addition, according to the different data intro¬ duced by the practitioner on the one hand and on the other hand physiological ranges stored by the memories of the microcomputer, the microprocessor of the latter performs repeatedly a precise calculation of different characteristics plaque and its various associated elements, in particular hooks, supports, hangers, hairpins and stool. Thus, there remains the technician to scrupulously respect the various indications provided by the computer to perform a plaque adapting perfectly to the patient's mouth.

The device according to the present invention allows indifferently to produce removable dental plates, according to the technique called damped frame, or according to the so-called KENNEDY - APPLEGATE. The choice of one or the other of these techniques belongs to pra¬ ticien. There is shown in Figure 2 a removable dental plate taken along KENNEDY APPLEGATE-technique, with the device according to the invention.

According to the present invention of the fundamental advantages over what was known to do before. These include the possibility for non-specialist prosthetics practitioner realizes plots of dental plates totally usable by a dental technician to achieve the dental plates themselves. It is therefore apparent that the device means to make significant savings and especially to realize significant time gains.

Claims

1 / A device for establishing the path of a removable partial dental plaque characterized in that it comprises:
- means for displaying (15, 16, 19) position¬ ment teeth still in place in the mouth of pa¬ holds;
- calculating means (17) for recursively determining the theoretical ideal alignment of the removable dental plate according to UNE hand positioning teeth still in place, introduced during the preceding step, and on the other from physiological values ​​ranges previously introduced in said calculating means;
- introducing means (18) specific clinical peculiarities in the patient's mouth during treatment;
- computing means (17) to return the theoretical final route of the plate according to a portion of these clinical peculiarities and other physiological ranges.
2 / Device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the means for displaying the positioning of the teeth still in place in the patient's mouth is constituted by a screen (15) on which a cursor moves (19) associated with a micro computer (17) and a validation element (16) data as a function of the position of said cursor (19).
3 / Device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the calculating means (17) for determining the theoretical ideal layout and final theoretical plot of the plate is constituted by a microcomputer whose operating steps are dictated by software adapted. 4 / A device according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the feeding means par¬ patient's clinical ticularismes is constituted by a keyboard (18) associated with a microcomputer.
5 / Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims characterized in that the ranges of physiological values ​​introduced into the calculating means for determining the theoretical ideal route of plaque relates to the fastening hooks of the plate, hairpins for to secure the plate to the tooth positioning of saddle arti¬ ficial, the dimensional characteristics of the saddle and the curvature of the plaque itself.
