Abstract

Acquisition of CT transmission data and omission data is achieved with the same scanner. Because the transmission and emission date sets are spatially registered, the map of attenuation coefficients described by the reconstructed transmission images can be used for generating a mathematically correct matrix for correction of sequentially or simultaneously aquired SPECT imaging data. The imaging devices can be gamma cameras (4).
