Abstract
A refuse bag or sack comprising one or more layers (3) of material cooperating with the bag layer (2), which constitutes the bag volume in such a manner that the layers of material, via the joining to the bag layer at its upper rim portion and/or in its longitudinal extent, mutually and together with the sections of said bag layer divide the bag volume into a main or central compartment (5) as well as one or more optionally foldable secondary compartments disposed along the bag wall.
Description
Sectionalized disposal bag.
The invention concerns a refuse bag or sack of the type which is sectionally divided into several compartments so that sorting of refuse can take place at an early stage in the household.
In recent years, the increasing interest in pollution and resource issues has manifested itself in various appeals vo the industri ay t t 'nc.us' holά.-, tc co ι_- _.^~ ι- selective refuse handling, so that at collection sites it will be more easy, rapid and inexpensive to divide refuse into various categories, such as chemical refuse, materials to be recycled, etc., which are then supplied to the final destruction plants and incineration plants.
Refuse systems are known in the above-mentioned connection, comprising erection of two or more stands for both bags in the households and sacks e.g. for storage of these for refuse collection purposes. Such refuse systems are known e.g. from the DK Published Application 124 118.
Recently, initiatives have moreover been taken with re- spect to various pilot projects with a type of multi- container system for refuse sorting already at the primary source of consumption.
However, the drawbacks in connection with the known de¬ vices are that these require exchange of already existing refuse systems, which involves a direct financial invest¬ ment, and moreover they are based on two or more "loose" stands and thus bags and sacks so that space problems will be involved in some cases. Further, more bags will have to be mounted and removed, respectively, at a time.
The object of the invention is to provide a simple and
effective refuse bag or sack, which lends itself to primary sorting of household refuse using existing stands therefor so that the refuse sorting is not made unduly difficult, and at the same time the device does not involve consider- able investments, financial as well as space-wise.
This object is achieved by providing a refuse bag or sack of the type stated in the characterizing portion of claim 1. Such a compartmentalized structure results directly in a simple, rational and inexpensive container device, which can readily be muuπ ed or, existing bag holders and sack stands. If one or more compartments are not used periodically, this unused volume may moreover be used for volume for the central or main compartment. In this way, unused, separate refuse stands will not take up unnecessary space or simply be used periodically for "extra" main compartment containers, so that occurring secondary compartment refuse may be mixed with other refuse, thus destroying the idea of the primary sorting.
The refuse bag is preferably provided as stated in claim 2,. where one or more layers of material are joined with the upper rim portion of the bag layer and along two or more lines extending in the longitudinal direction of the bag.
However, the refuse bag or sack may also consist of an outer bag on whose upper, internal rim portion one or more, optionally removable bag elements are attached. This is stated in claim 3.
The invention will be explained more fully below with reference to the drawing, which shows a compartmentalized refuse bag or sack according to the invention. -
The figure illustrates a preferred embodiment of a refuse sack 1 according to the invention, in an unfolded state
of use. It will be seen how the sack in the illustrated case is composed of an outer bag layer 2 and an inner layer 3 of material serving as a secondary compartment 6. Thus, the sack 1 uses its internal layer 3 of material for secondary compartment division so that at two or more locations along the circumference said internal layer is attached axially with the sack to the outer layer from the bottom of the sack to the vicinity of the top of the sack, which is indicated by the dashed lines 4.
It will thus be appreciated with this structure that by modification of a bag or sack structure known per se there is provided a simple, inexpensive and useful refuse container in a simple manner, which can readily replace the known bags and sacks, and which, irrespective of varying primary refuse sorting requirements, can always be utilized fully since non-used secondary compartments 6 can be used as a volume for the main compartment 5.
Claims
1. A refuse bag or sack, c h a r a c t e r i z e d in that it consists of one or more layers (3) of material cooperating with the bag layer (2), which constitutes the bag volume, in such a manner that the layers of ma¬ terial, via joining to the bag layer at its upper rim portion and/or in its longitudinal extent, mutually and together with said bag layer sectionally divide the bag volume intc a main or central compartment (5) s vrell as one or more optionally foldable secondary compartments disposed along the bag wall.
2. A refuse bag or sack according to claim 1, c h a ¬ r a c t e r i z e d in that the layer or layers (3) of material are joined to the bag layer (2) along at least two substantially axially disposed lines (4), pre¬ ferably in the entire longitudinal extent of the bag layer (2).
3. A ref se bag or sack according to claim 1, c h a ¬ r a c t e r i z e d in that the bag is so sectionally divided that one or more separate bag elements are attached at part of their rim portion along the rim portion of the bag layer.
