Abstract

To the manufacturing process of the bags belongs a plenty of manual work, which increases the costs. In the method in accordance with the invention the bottom of the bag forming bottom-part and with the bottom-part connected jointing-part for fixing of the bag side to the bottom are manufactured with a mould to its form like the bag bottom by conducting into the mould plastic material and by forming with the help of the mould the bottom of the bag in such a way, that the bottom-part of the bottom is formed essentially thicker than the jointing-part of the bottom. To the bag in accordance with the invention belongs an of plastic made bottom (1), which consists of the bottom-part (2) and to the bottom-part connected jointing-part (3), essentially thinner than the bottom-part.

Description

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PROCESS OF BAG BOTTOM AND BAG MANUFACTURED BY THIS METHOD
The object of the invention is a method for manufacturing process of the bag bottom and a bag manufactured by this method .
Manufacture of different utility bags, for instance tra¬ velling bags, sporting bags, shopping bags and correspond¬ ing comparatively light weight bags, is connected with a plenty of manual work. The materials for the bags are cut, the cut pieces are joined together e.g. by means of sew- ing, and the bag is equipped with fasteners and the manu¬ facturer's name. All these working phases contain manual work, which increases the^costs. One problem is addition¬ ally the durability of the bottom materials of the bags under moist conditions.
The aim of the intention is to bring forth a method for manufacture of the bag bottom, which eliminates disadvan¬ tages connected with the manufacture of the bag. In par¬ ticular the aim of the invention is to bring about a method for the manufacturing process of the bottom of the bag, by means of which it is possible to make the manufacture of the bag more efficient and to save in the costs, and which method is simple and easy to carry out. In addition the aim of the invention is to bring forward a bag manu- factured by this method, which bag is simple to its con¬ struction, durable and moisture-proof to its bottom.
The aim of the invention is achieved by applying of the method and with the bag manufactured by this method, which are mainly chracterized by it, what is presented in the patent claims.
The bottom of the bag is manufactured according to the in¬ vention by making the bag bottom forming bottom-part and with the bottom-part connected jointing-part of plastic material with the help of a bottom formed mould in such a way, that the bottom-part is formed essentially thicker than the jointing-part, to which the bag side is fixed. In the method with the help of the mould is formed in a known way for instance by mould blowing, injection mould¬ ing or some other known manner the integral bottom, con¬ sisting of the bottom-part and jointing-part, which is easy to join from the jointing-part to the material form- ing the side of the bag. Such a bag bottom is accomplish¬ ed in one working phase. The form of the bag bottom can vary in the wished way, likewise is it possible to change the colouring of the bag by adding colouring agents to the plastic mixture. As plastic mixtures are used for the purpose suitable, known plastic materials, such as poly¬ ethylene or corresponding , "the consistence of which can be varied and thus accomplish different bottom structures in different thicknesses. The other parts of the bag can be manufactured of materials presently In use, which are Joined together in a known manner with the bottom manu¬ factured in accordance with the method.
Into the mould are in certain applications of the inven¬ tion made favourably cavities conforming to the fasteners of the bag, whereby the fasteners are accomplished in connection with the bottom manufacturing process from the same plastic material. Into the mould can also be made spaces for instance for the manufacturer's name, adver¬ tisements etc- purposes, whereat It is not necessary any- more to fix these marks or annotations later on as a se¬ parate working phase on the bag.
In some applications the lower part of the bottom-part is made of different material than the upper part of the bottom-part, for instance by putting on the bottom of the mould a bottom plate, onto which the plastic mixture Is fixed during the manufacturing process ..Hereby the wear and tear durability of the structure can be increased by choosing the bottom plate of durable material. Similarly, the sturdiness of the bottom can be increased by choosing a bottom plate made from a suitable material, for instance metal. Additionally, to either the plastic bottom or the bottom plate can if wished moulded or fixed protruding parts, for instance for wheels.
To the bag in accordance with the invention belongs a bottom made of plastic, which consists of the bottom-part and the with it connected jointing-part, essentially thin¬ ner than the bottom-part, for fixing of the bag sides to the bottom. The jointing-part forms a part of the lower part of the bag sides and it is fixed to the rest of the side in the usual way, e.g. by sewing. Such a bottom of the bag is sturdy, durable to its structure and water-proof. At the same time the bag is comparatively light in weight as well as elastic to its structure and it can usually without difficulty be wound up or folded together.
In the following the invention is explained more accurately by referring to the attached drawing, which presents one certain application of the bag manufactured by the method in accordance with the invention in cross-section seen at an angle from the side.
The bottom 1 of the bag presented on the picture is made1 of plastic. To the bottom belongs the bottom-part 2 and the to it coherently connected jointing-part 3, which is essentially thinner than the bottom-part. The bottom-part is comparatively sturdy and the jointing-part is elastic. The jointing-part is connected with the bag sides 4 in a usual manner and it forms in a way a part of the lower part of the side.
In some applications the bottom-part of the bag is equip¬ ped with for instance chamfers, patterns or roughing-ups . The jointing part of the bottom or the bottom-part can also be equipped with fasteners for the" straps of the bag.
The invention is not limited to the presented applica¬ tion, but it can vary within the limits of the patent claims.
