Abstract

In a prior art lighter case, the thumb is brought into contact with a windshield member through a large window provided in a side wall of the lighter case, and the windshield member is vertically operated. Therefore, the finger is sometimes burnt carelessly, and difficulty is caused in patterning the lighter case. The present invention provides a windshield-carrying lighter case capable of solving these problems. A lighter case according to the present invention consists of a semicylindrical windshield member (2) housed slidably in a holder member (6) on the inner surface of a case body (1), a vertical slot (7) provided in a side wall of the holder member (6), and an operating button (3) inserted through the slot (7) and fitted firmly into a hole (10) in the windshield member (2). A material (B) having temperature-indicating characteristics is printed, applied or pasted to or with the outer surface of the windshield member (8). Owing to the above-described construction, the operating button (3) may be moved vertically along the slot (7) by using the thumb for operating the windshield (2). When the lighter is ignited, the pattern consisting of the material (B) having temperature-indicating characteristics arouses the user's interest.
