Description
Machine for transporting material
The invention relates to a machine for transporting material in connection with mobile vehicle, such as tractor, said machine comprising a chassis secured at least during the work to a firm base such as ground and connected to the vehicle at least during the moving of the machine; a pivot plate or the like attached to the chassis and rntable substantially in relation to the chassis and a boom arrangement with the implement fitted to the pivot plate and rotable substantially in a vertical plane.
The machine described above is known from DE-OS 1 907 164. The chassis of the machine in accordance with the publication is fitted to the three-point suspension of a" tractor. The chassis comprises a pair of wheels. Further the boom arrangement is attached to the chassis in such a manner that it can be rotated around a vertical axis. The boom arrangement itself is pivotable in a vertical plane. This machine has various drawbacks as far as the diversification of the range of use is concerned. The construction of the boom arrangement and the lack of possibilities to move the machine in relation to the vehicle in some directions, which would be vital for some works limits the possibilities to use the machine.
US-patent 2 717 091 describes power attachments used in combination with tractors or the like comprising a boom arrangement, the lenght of which is adjustable. Otherwise the construction of the machine in
accordance with the said patent differs from that of the machine of the invention.
The purpose of the invention is to present a machine, which can be adapted for multiple working purposes in connection with various implements. The machine in accordance with the invention can be used as loader, shovel or generally in connection with conveying, displacement or transporting of material. Thus the implement atatched to the boom arrangement can be bucket (digging and loading), float (levelling), brush (brushing), fork (transporting material) etc. The construction of the machine overcomes the drawbacks of the conventional techniques allowing wide and diversified paths for the implement attached to the boom arrangement.
For accomplishing the above mentioned purposes the machine in accordance with the invention is mainly characterized in that the boom arrangement comprise a telescopic construction adjustable in the longitudinal direction of the boom known as such and that the chassis is connected to the supporting structure in the vehicle thorough a tilting mechanism, which is arranged to tilt the chassis, the pivot plate, the boom arrangement and the implement around substantially a horizontal axis in relation to the vehicle.
By means of the above described machine various advantageous features is achieved. Without moving the vehicle loading, digging and other works related to transporting material can be performed in the limits of the working paths of the pivot plate and the boom
arrangement, these limits being arranged so that continuous slight displacements of the vehicle is not needed, as it is the case when using conventional machines to simultaneous works. The machine can perform works related to special purposes such as ditching etc in which the tilting mechanism is needed to allow the rotation of the machine in relation to the vehicle.
Other characteristic features of the machine in accordance with the invention are described in the subclaims.
The invention will now be described in more detail with simultaneous references to the annexed drawings presenting an advatageous embodiment of the machine in accordance with the invention. In the drawings,
Fig 1 is a perspective view of the supporting structure of the mounting arrangement, to which the the machine is fitted, the said supporting structure being attached to the vehicle such as tractor
Fig 2 is a perspective view of the tilting mechanism (A) and a plan view of the same seen from the direction of the supporting structure (B),
Fig 3 is a perspective view of the machine eg. the chassis, the pivot plate and the boom arrangement,
Fig 4 is a plan view of the the machine from above without the boom arrangement,
Fig 5 is a sectional view taken along the line A-A in the Fig 4 and
Fig 6 is a perspective view of the the supporting structure, the tilting mechanism and the machine these being put together.
The vehicle such as tractor is placed between the 5 supporting structure in accordance with the Fig 1 so that the forepart of the vehicle is substantially at the vertical plane indicated by reference numerals 1. The supporting structure comprise two support parts 2, 3, which are placed at the opposite longitudinal sides 0 of the vehicle. The support parts are connected to each other by means of the mounting arrangement 4, which is placed beneath the vehicle. The support parts are both attached to the vehicle at three attachment points indicated with reference numerals 5, 6, 7. The 5 support structure is adjustable in the longitudinal direction (means 8 and 9) so that it can be fitted to different types of vehicles. The attachment and the adjustability are clear to a person skilled to the art so that these features are not described in more 0 detail.
The mounting arrangement 4 of the embodiment comprises two mounting means A1,B1 which are arranged to the forepart of the support structure concurrently in the horizontal direction. These mounting means are placed 5 beneath the chassis of the vehicle when the supporting structure is attached and they are able to receive the corresponding means in the tilting mechanism or in the chassis in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The mounting arrangement 4 with the mounting 0 means Al, Bl are fixed to the support structure by means of a articulated mechanism 10, 11, whereat the said mounting means can be displaced and/or rotated in
the vertical direction for displacement of the machine fitted to the said mounting means for instance lifting the machine. The articulated mechanism comprise a pair of articulated rods 10 and a pair of mounting parts 11, the rods 10 being linked to the support parts 2, 3 at their first rear end at 12 and to the mounting parts 11 at their second front end at 13. The rods 10 are rotable in the vertical direction around the link 12 and the mounting parts 11. are either rotatable or displaceable in the vertical direction by means of cylinder-piston arrangements 14, 15 between the support parts 2, 3 and the mounting parts 11. The first pair of cylinder-piston arrangements 14 is fitted between the links 13 and the support parts 2, 3. The second pair of cylinder-piston arrangements 15 is fitted between the foreparts of the mounting parts 11 and the support parts 2, 3. By adjusting the • lenght of these cylinder-piston arrangements 14, 15 it is possible to accomplish various positions for the mounting means Al, Bl, which are at the front of the mounting parts 11 and thus for the machine itself connected to the said mounting means. The cylinder-piston arrangements 14, 15 as well as the other cylinder-piston arrangements in the machine can be hydraulic and connected to the hydraulic circuit of the vehicle or the machine can have its own hydraulic circuit with hydraulic motor and pump.
The mounting parts 11 of the mounting arrangement 4 are connected to each other by means of a boom 4a, having a general form of U opening downwards.
Together the mounting parts 11 with the mounting means Al , Bl and the boom 4a form the mounting arrangement generally indicated by the reference numeral 4. The said mounting arrangement is placed beneath the vehicle, when the supporting structure is attached.
Fig 2 shows the construction of the tilting mechanism, which is used when the machine is to be tilted around a substantially horizontal axis in relation to the vehicle. The tilting mechanism is fitted to the mounting means Al , Bl in the supporting structure by using the mounting means A2, B2, which are fixed to the tilting mechanism to corresponding places. The mounting means Al , Bl have both a locking part 33 and the mounting means A2, B2 have both a
* groove part 34. These "parts 33, 34 interlock the supporting structure and the tilting mechanism. This kind of locking mechanisms are known as such and they are not described in detail.
The tilting mechanism is fixed to the chassis of the machine at its forepart 16. The combination of the pivoted axle and the bushing 35 is arranged between the concurrent mounting means A2, B2 to the interconnector 17 of said mounting means. This combination is to be placed inside the U-form of the boom 4a in the supporting structure. • The pivoted axle 35a is fixed to the forepart 16 of the tilting mechanism, whereat the bushing 35b is fixed to the interconnector 17 of the tilting mechanism. Thus there is a sliding bearing between the said forepart 16 and the said interconnector 17. The cylinder-piston
arrangement 18 is fitted between the forepart 16 and the interconnector 17 to accomplish the rotation of the parts 17, 18 in relation to each other around the common axis of the combination 35. The parts 17, 18 can be interlocked by means of the locking arrangement 19.
Figures 3-5 show the construction of the machine itself. The chassis 20 and the pivot plate 21 have a substantially circular shape in plan view from above. They are attached to each other with bearings
22, 23, the first one being a central bearing 22 and the second one being a peripheral bearing 23. The pivot plate 21 can be rotated in relation to the chassis 20 (substantially in a horizontal plane when the machine is in its normal working position).
*>
The bracket arrangements 24, 25 are attached to the outer surface of the pivot plate 21. The boom arrangement 32 at its lower end is fitted with articulated joints to the first bracket arrangement 24 and the cylinder-piston arrangement 26 for rotating the boom arrangement mainly in a vertical plane is fitted with articulated joints between the second bracket arrangement 25 and the the boom arrangement 32. The boom arrangement can for instance comprise two parallel, douple-acting telescopic cylinders having hydraulic drive or one doulpe-acting telescopic cylinder having hydraulic drive and two dry telescopic supporting cylinders at both sides of the hydraulic driven cylinder, all three cylinders being parallel. The latter alternative is presented in the drawings, but it should be noted that the construction of the
boom arrangement can differ from those presented above. According to the idea of the invention the the boom arrangement is a telescopic construction , the lenght of which is adjustable in the longitudinal direction of the same.
The free end of the boom arrangement comprise fitting means 27 for the implement for instance for the bucket used during working.
The rolls 28 or similar means are attached beneath the chassis 20. By means of these rolls the machine can be slightly moved during the work on the ground. However when the vehicle with the machine is moved greater distances the machine is lifted off the ground by means of the supporting structure.
The rotating of the pivot plate 21 is accomplished by the combination 29 comprising the gear rack and cogged wheel arranged between the chassis 20 and the pivot plate 21 and having hydraulic drive. The angle of rotation of the pivot plate in relation to the chassis can be for instance 220 degrees. By using rotary engine the angle of rotation can be 360 degrees.
The tilting mechanism according to Fig. 2 is fixed to the rear side 36 of the chassis 20.
The chassis advatageously comprise the circular bottom 30, to the periphery which the upwards projecting outer wall is adjoining. Together with the pivot plate 21 the chassis form the space 37, in which the bearings and the hydraulic and mechanical equipment can be placed in a well protected manner.
The hydraulic equipment can be driven either by means of the pump of the vehicle (for instance most of the tractors have facilities for hydraulic drive) or the machine can have facilities for independent hydraulic drive.
