Such a primer does not attack the plastic and does not harm the environment.

Description

It is a process for the priming of plastics, in which an aqueous dispersion is used as the primer which contains an aliphatic, reactive carboxyl group-containing polyurethane, a polyacrylate, a pigment and possibly a hardener (not known, but by the applicant) have been proposed (see DE-PS 3 316 550).
I.I.
According to this proposal, the polyacrylate has reactive carboxyl groups.
According to a first invention, the polyacrylate is free of reactive carboxyl groups, which does not rule out that the polyacrylate contains small amounts of carboxyl groups due to the manufacturing process.
It has been shown that the task according to the above-mentioned proposal, namely the creation of a method for priming plastics, in which on the one hand the plastic is not attacked and on the other hand is environmentally friendly, can also be solved in this way.
In particular, higher polymerized polyacrylates can now be used, which has the consequence that the hardness and thus e.g. the rockfall resistance of the end product can be increased.
II.II.
A second invention is based on the object, a suitable coating for the primer mentioned above to accomplish.
This object is achieved on the one hand in that an aqueous dispersion is used as the coating to be applied to the primer, which comprises an aliphatic, reactive carboxyl group-containing polyurethane, a reactive carboxyl group-containing or free of such carboxyl group, optionally a pigment and possibly a hardener contains, the ratio of polyurethane to polyacrylate between 90:10 and 10:90, in particular between 80:20 and 20:80, in particular between 70:30 and 30:70, in particular between 60:40 and 40:60.
Such a coating not only adheres well, it also does not attack the plastic (through the primer) and is also environmentally friendly.
On the other hand, the above object is achieved in that a mixture is used as the coating to be applied to the primer, which contains a polymer containing hydroxyl groups as a binder, in particular polyacrylate and / or polyester, an organic solvent, optionally a pigment and a hardener, in particular an isocyanate, contains.
This coating also adheres well and does not or hardly attacks the plastic under the primer through the primer.
Both coatings are primarily intended for the automotive industry. They meet the very strict norms of the same.
Weiterhin wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, daß als zu beschichtendes Kunststoffsubstrat AcrylnitrilButadien-Styrol-Copolymere (ABS), Polyamid (PA), lackier fähiges Polyoxymethylen (POM), insbesondere Hostaform X 313, Polyurethan (PUR), Polyvinycnioria (PVC), Kautschuk (EPDM), Polypropylen Kautschuk modifiziert (PP-EPDM), Vinylchlorid-Vinylacetat-Copolymere (PVCA), ungesättigte Polyester (UP), Epoxid (EP), vorbehandelt z.B. geflammtes Polyäthylen (PE) und Polypropylen (FF) Polyphenylenoxid (PPO), insbesondere Noryl 731-802, Polybutylenterephthalat (PBTP), GFK, Polystyrol (PS) verwendet werden.Furthermore, it is proposed according to the invention that as the plastic substrate to be coated, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymers (ABS), polyamide (PA), paintable polyoxymethylene (POM), in particular Hostaform X 313, polyurethane (PUR), polyvinycnioria (PVC), rubber (EPDM), polypropylene rubber modified (PP-EPDM), vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymers (PVCA), unsaturated polyester (UP), epoxy (EP), pretreated e.g. flamed Polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (FF), polyphenylene oxide (PPO), in particular Noryl 731-802, polybutylene terephthalate (PBTP), GRP, polystyrene (PS) can be used.
III.III.
According to a third invention, it is proposed that the dispersion be applied with or without pigments as the first and optionally only layer.
It has been shown that the dispersion can be used quite generally as a coating for plastics, regardless of whether it contains pigments or not: it does not attack the plastic and is environmentally friendly.
If, according to the invention, a second layer is applied to the first dispersion, it may contain organic solvents. These do not or hardly penetrate through the first layer. However, there is a further improvement in terms of non-interference with the plastic substrate if the second layer is also a dispersion according to the invention.
The dispersion according to the invention can be used particularly advantageously for coating hard PVC parts, in particular window parts, because PVC must be coated, since it would otherwise be degraded by the weather. It is particularly expedient if the layer to be applied directly to the rigid PVC parts contains a pigment and if, when a second layer is provided, this is an aqueous dispersion corresponding to the first layer (with or without pigment). If there is no pigment in the second layer, it may contain a UV absorber. If a metal pigmentation is provided for the second layer, it is expedient to first apply a metal base lacquer to the first layer and, after it has dried, the clear lacquer according to the invention or a top lacquer containing a metal pigment.
IV.IV.
All those substances which are dispersed in water (as a dispersion or hydrosol), have film-forming properties above 0 ° C., are pigment-compatible and have a long shelf life are suitable as polyurethanes and polyacrylates.
For the preparation of the primers or coatings to be used, polyurethane dispersions are used which, at a solids content (% by weight) of 25-5o%, preferably 35-4o%, have a consistency of <3000 mPas, preferably loo- 5oo mpas . The polyacrylic hydrosol with a solids content in weight percent of 30-60%, preferably 45-50%, has a consistency of <1000 mPas, preferably <400 mPas.
The liquid portion need not only consist of water, but it can also consist of 75-99% by weight, in particular 81-92% by weight, water and 25-1% by weight, in particular 19-8% by weight, of organic solvents and added neutralization means exist.
Such a dispersion that is completely or largely free of organic solvents does not attack the plastic that is coated. In addition, the dispersion cannot cause contamination of the atmosphere.
The dispersion can be used with and without a curing accelerator. The otherwise customary pigments can be used as the pigment.
The aqueous dispersion can be applied by the usual methods.
Natürlich kann (können) die Grundierung bzw. Überzüge zusätzlich Additive, wie Metzmittel, Verlaufmittel, aufweisen.Of course, the primer or coatings can also have additives, such as butchers, leveling agents.
The invention also relates to the fabrics according to the claims.
