Description

HAND VACUUM Specification
The model of the invention pertains to hand held vacuum cleaners.
The accompanying drawings illustrate a preferred embodiment of the invention and wherein:
FIGURE 1 is a side elevational view of a hand vacuum formed in accordance with the present invention;
FIGURE 2 is a top plan view thereof;
FIGURE 3 is a front elevational view thereof;
FIGURE 4 is a side elevational view opposite of the view of FIGURE 1;
FIGURE 5 is a bottom plan view thereof; and
FIGURE 6 is a rear elevational view thereof.
A conventional electrical cord has been shown fragmentarily for ease of illustration.
The hand vacuum of the present invention is comprised of a housing 10 including a handle 12 and nozzle 14 depending from the housing central portion. An elastomeric band 16 elastomerically retains and seals the vacuum bag 18 to the housing 10. Air slots 20, 22 in the side wall of the housing provide for the ingress and egress of cooling air to the motor unit contained in the housing. Slide switch 22 in handle 12 is provided for convenient operation in turning the vacuum cleaner on and off.
The housing 10 is comprised of opposed halves which are fastened together with conventional fastening devices such as screws 28. Preferably the housing is constructed of a durable and rigid lightweight plastic material to provide strength yet ease and convenience in operation. A nozzle guard 30 is clipped onto the nozzle, terminal end for ease in access to the nozzle inner wall
OMPI, IPO and vacuum revolving brush 32. In operation, revolving brush 32 provides a vibrating and sweeping action that removes embedded dirt and soil and fluffs cleaned carpet and fabrics.
Arbitrary design configurations such as generally rectangular shape 34 on the side wall of the housing and flared sweeping front wall end lines 36, 38 present distinctive model configurations and designs to the vacuum unit. In addition, end lines 36, 38 taper toward the front wall 42. A selectively removable elastomeric cap 40 is provided in the face of the front wall 42 of the vacuum to provide for attachment of various vacuum attachment devices (not shown) to an accessory attachment part.
