Abstract

The electrical coagulator for the purification of a contaminated liquid comprises a settling chamber (1) wherein a vertical electrical coagulation chamber (2) is arranged coaxially thereto. In the lower portion of the chamber (2) a system of soluble electrodes (5) is mounted whereunder a sleeve (6) is provided for feeding the contaminated liquid. An electrolyte is fed into the electrical coagulation chamber (2) through a sleeve (7) which is arranged in the lower portion thereof. The purified liquid is discharged through the sleeve (3) which is mounted in the settling chamber (1). Screen grids (8) are arranged between the electrodes (5) and the sleeve (6) provided for feeding the contaminated liquid.
