Abstract

Double litter bin consisting of an outer stand-section, (A) with a flat bottom and two vertical, opposite sides, and an inner cross-section (B), which at the top has two horizontal frames (1) separated from each other by a narrow space (3). Opposite, parallel and in plane with (1) are the frames of (A), (2), situated so that two bags or pails can be put on and removed separately. The (1) frames are bent downwards and cross each other at (4a) and (4b). Above (4a) there may be a bending inwards to allow mounting. The bars of the cross-section strengthen the double litter bin and make a demarcation of two of the sides, at the two others a bar (6) serves the same purpose. (A) and (B) are separable at the corners of (7) and (8), either by the bars of (B) ending in the form of hooks or by tubes (8) into which short bottoms of (B) may be inserted.

Description

Doubble litter bin.
This invention relates to a doubble litter bin making it possible to sort and save refuse.
Usually litter bins have just one receptacle. Some receptacles holding a plurality of separate are known: British Patent 1 533 841, American patents 1 962 661 and 2 420 243, and German Offen legungsschrift 24 46 726 and 2 017 034. However, all these are container or pail- like probably taking up more room and being more expensive than a simple, stand- like doubble litter bin.
In accordance with the invention the doubble litter bin is compound of, A, an outer stand- section with just two vertical opposite sides, which can be bent a little towards the centre, and, B, an inner cross- section. This latter consists of two bars. emerging from each of A's lower corners and crossing each others a little below the top. Here they are bent 90° and continue horizontally and parallelly to each others and the outer, upper bars. Between the two bars of B there is a narrow space which enables the user to put on or remove bags separately. The bags can be firaly fixed because of the flexibility of the outer sides of A. This principle of firmly fixing bags is knosm, French patent nr. 1 564 838, but has never been used this way on a doubble litter bin with a cross- section in the middle. Furthermore, the doubble litter bin has been turned 90° in proportion to the possible door or wall on to which it may be mounted,
This special construction in accordance with the invention gives the doubble litter bin strength besides that it provides a simple way to divide up the litter bin. Furthermore, the cross- section makes a demarcation of the doubble litter bin on two of its vertical sides protecting the bags and keeping them inside the doubble litter bin. At the two other vertical sides bars between the middle of the top and the middle of the bottom serve the same purposes. Also, screws or hooks may be fixed to the cross- section below one of the crosses to mount the doubble litter bin on a door or wall. However, its bottom being flat it may also be put on a floor.
If the stand according to the invention is instead intended for inserting of pails the crosses and the space at the top are not necessary and the bars may meet at the top to form a single,, horizontal bar in the middle.
To be able to stack a number of doubble litter bins in accordance with the invention it may be expedient to produce it in two parts: The stand- section end the cross section. Thus the two sections can be stacked separately. Before use the two sections are put together at the four lower corners, either with the aid of hooks or by means of two pibes into which short, horizontal bottoms of the cross- section are inserted,
The invention and its possible mounting and stacking will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in accordance with the invention: The doubble litter bin is shown. The separation between the two parts designed to receive bags takes place along two parallel, inner and upper frames, 1. These frames are separated by a narrow space, 3, permitting bags to be put on or removed separately. Opposite to the frames, 1, are on each side two outer parallel frames, 2, which can be bent a little towards 1. So bags can be firmly fixed between 1 and 2. The frames 1 are bent 90º downwords and cross on each side, 4a and 4b. On that they continue downwards to the lower corners, 8. At the other side a bar, 6, stretches across the middle of the bottom to be bent upwards into the middle of the frames, 2. The doubble litter bin may be suspended from screws or hooks mounted below 4 and the horizontal bar at the bottom, 7. At the top there must be a little space between the litter bin and the door or wall so that bags can be put on. This may be achieved either by the property of the hooks or by a bending at 4a and 5. For the purpose of stacking the bars, 3, may be tubes into which short, horizontal bottoms of the cross- section can be inserted due to the flexibility of the bars. Or hooks at the bottom of the cross- section may grip 8 right at the corners. Both ways the cross- section and the outer stand- section can be stacked separately to be connected before use.

Claims

WHAT WS CLAIM IS:- 1, A doubble litter bin which comprises an outer stand, A, with a flat bottom from which two vertical, opposite, flexible sides with upper, horizontal frames emerge, and an inner cross- section, B, whose bars emerge from each of the stand's four lower corners, cross each others a little below the top and at the top form two parallel , horizontal, closely spaced frames each of which is in plane with the opposite, parallel, outer frames of A so that the litter bin is doubble and bags may be put on and removed separately,
2, A doubble litter bin as claimed in claim 1 characterized by the said cross- section serving the further purposes of strengthening the whole litter bin and providing a vertical demarcation of two of the sides
3, A doubble litter bin as claimed in claim 1 and 2 with the said cross- section adapted for mounting to a door or a wall by the aid of screws or hooks.
4, A doubble litter bin as claimed in claim 1-3 with a small bending inwards near the top of the side of mounting.
5, A doubble litter bin as claimed in claim 1-4 with a bar stretching across the middle of the bottom and at each side continuing upward to the middle of A's upper frames to make demarcations of these two sides. ό, A doubble litter bin as claimed in claim 1-5 which can be separated into two parts, said A and B, to be put together before use either with the bars of B ending in the form of hooks to be fixed at the four bottom corners, o r b y 8 b e i n g tubes into which short, horizontal bottoms of B can be inserted.
7, A doubble litter bin as in claim 1-6 with the exception that the bars of said B do not cross each others, but meet at the sides or at the top.
