Abstract
Appareil centrifuge et methode utilisant l'appareil pour produire des microspheres de verre creuses et des microspheres vides en verre creuses. L'appareil centrifuge possede une pluralite d'ajutages de soufflage coaxiaux (55) disposes dans la paroi peripherique externe (20) du rotor (1). Du verre en fusion (4) est alimente dans le centrifugeur et en raison de la force centrifuge, il revet la surface de la paroi interne (20) du rotor (1) et alimente les ajutages coaxiaux (55). On alimente le centrifugeur et les ajutages de soufflage coaxiaux (55) avec un gaz de soufflage ou un gaz de soufflage de vapeur metallique. Un fluide entrainant (54) est egalement envoye dans l'appareil centrifuge ou il s ecoule au travers de celui-ci et il est dirige sur les ajutages de soufflage coaxiaux (55). Les microspheres vides en verre creuses (67) sont faites par formation d'une pellicule liquide de verre en fusion sur les ajutages de soufflage coaxiaux (55), par application d'un gaz de soufflage de vapeur metallique (60) a une pression positive sur la surface interne de la pellicule de verre pour souffler la pellicule qui se combine a la force centrifuge pour former une pellicule liquide en forme de cylindre allonge (62) en verre fondu qui est detache par un jet (63) pour former une sphere creuse (67).
