Abstract

La invención se relaciona con el tratamiento biológico de materiales sólidos. En particular, se relaciona con el tratamiento biológico ex situ de materiales sólidos en un proceso aeróbico, con el objeto de degradar un compuesto no deseado presente en el material sólido. Dicho tratamiento se realiza utilizando un reactor biológico de superficie sin agitación, caracterizado porque comprende los pasos de: a) recubrir la superficie de una pluralidad de sustratos gruesos con un tamaño de partícula mayor que aproximadamente 0,3 cm, con un material sólido a ser objeto de tratamiento biológico formándose así una pluralidad de sustratos gruesos recubiertos, presentando dicho material sólido a ser tratado un tamaño de partícula de menos que aproximadamente 250 micrometros y conteniendo un componente no deseado; b) formar un reactor de superficie sin agitación superponiendo dicha pluralidad de sustratos gruesos recubiertos en un montículo, o ubicando dicha pluralidad de sustratos gruesos recubierto en un tanque, presentando dicho reactor un volumen hueco mayor o igual que 25%; c) inocular dicho reactor con un microorganismo capaz de degradar el compuesto no deseado en dicho material sólido y formar un reactor de superficie sin agitación; y d) tratar biológicamente dicho material sólido en dicho reactor biológico, hasta que dicho compuesto no deseado en dicho material sólido sea degradado hasta la concentración deseada.The invention relates to the biological treatment of solid materials. Said treatment is carried out using a surface biological reactor without stirring, characterized in that it comprises the steps of: a) coating the surface of a plurality of thick substrates with a particle size greater than approximately 0.3 cm, with a solid material to be object of biological treatment thereby forming a plurality of thick coated substrates, said solid material to be treated having a particle size of less than about 250 microns and containing an undesired component; b) forming a non-stirred surface reactor by superimposing said plurality of coated thick substrates on a mound, or placing said plurality of coated thick substrates in a tank, said reactor having a hollow volume greater than or equal to 25%; c) inoculating said reactor with a microorganism capable of degrading the unwanted compound in said solid material and forming a surface reactor without stirring; and d) biologically treating said solid material in said biological reactor, until said unwanted compound in said solid material is degraded to the desired concentration.
