IMPROVEMENT IN COMPOUND FOR C 'RING- CHOLERA IN HOG-S AND CHICKENS.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known taat I, Anson. G. MCMAHAN, of Lincoln, in the onnty of Logan, and State of Illinois, have. invented a new and valuable Improvement in the Cure oi'Gholera in Hogs and Chickens; and I do hereby declare that the following is a fu1l,'cloar, and exact description of the same.

My invention relates to medical compounds intended for use in curing the disease called the cholera, in hogs and chickens; and

It consists, mainly, in a novel compound audprooess for compoumling assnii'nditu,sulphur, and black antimony.

My medicine is compounded as follows, namely:

l'take one pound of assai'oedita and place it in a kettle containing two gallons of rain-water. I then heat the water to 130 1*uln'cnhcit, and until the assul'oadita is dissolved. I nextstrain the solution through a tine siovo and lot it stand. I then take one pound of sulphur and place it in two gallons of rain-water, in a suitable vessel, and beat them to 98 Fahrenlwit, stirring and mining them thoroughly while the heating-process is going on, and keep them atthat temperatureono hour. 1 then mix the two solutions together, making. i'our gallons in all, less the necessary evaporation. 1 next put the liquid so formed in bottles, and set such bottles in a room of even temperature for three months, to allow fermentation to become complete. At the expiration of the abovenamed period, or at any time after fermentation has been completed, I add four draclnns of black antimony to each'quart of the solution.

I administer the above remedy to hogsin doses varying from half a gill to a gill, and repeatthe doses each half hour until the animal is cured.

To administer my remedy to cl1ickens,'I sprinkle it over meal or dough.
