This switch is arranged in one side of amotor s5 circuit 55 of the motor 16 and accordingly this motor c'ircuit'is broken when the valve 40 is opened and the pump'15 isbrought to ai stop. v This motor circuit55 preferably further includes a ,hand operated switch 56 I by means of which .thecircuit ma be manually broken. It will be obvious-t a't-the circuits referred to'have been diagrammatically illustrated and that, of course, the switch 51 would not serve'to maintain-the motor circuit after the priming. line had been drained.
Means for accomplishing this function are, however, old and well known and it will'ac-v cordingly be well understood how the same will be applied. An example of a method of maintaining the circuit of'the centrifugal pump motor which might be employed may, befoundin the patent to -Otto Haentj ens, granted October 28, 1924, No. 1,513,705. I

It will be seenthat with the construction s employed, it-is not possible for any of the priming water to reach the pump 15 and this is an important feature of the construction for the reason that devices of this character are usually employed in pumping the sump of mines and accordingly the water being handle'd is very'dirty and capable of causing con- 1 I Siderable damage-t0 a small pump of this character.
