My invention is an improvement in subgrade-scrapers, and has for its object to provide mechanisml of the character specified adapted to run upon the header boards or forms an to cut away the surface of the grade, and wherein the eut-ting blades may e adjusted to any desired depth, and is provided for permitting the scraper to be turned without the necessit o removing it from the roadway.

Scraper blades 13, 14 and 15 are supported from the trame depending below the same in inclined or undercutting posi'- tion, the blades 13 and 15 being arranged in pairs.
As shown in Fig. 1` the blades 13 are at the center of the frame, being arranged in inverted V-shape. The blades 14 are inclined inwardly from front to rear, and the rear end of each blade 14 is spaced apart from the rear end of the adjacent blade 13 to allow the scraper to pass material which has been displaced by the blades without and to prevent the displaced material from materially impedin'g the progress of the scraper. The blades 13 are connected with a suitable supporting trame 1G of angle material, and each blade 14 is connected to a similar supporting frame 17, the frames 16 and 17 being connected with the main iframe 1. Each pair of' blades 15 is connected with a supporting -rame 18, the said frames 16, 17 and 18 being ot angle material, as shown more particularly in Fig. 2., each traine. having a portion secured to the -main frame and the other portion depending therefrom for the attachment of the blades.
Suitable draft apparatus, indicated at 19, is connected with the front of the raine by means of eyebolts 20, the said draft apparatus being chains, in the present instance, which may be attached to a suitable motor.
