ROSE PLANT Eugene S. Boerner, Newark, N. Y., assignor .to Jackson & Perkins Company, Newark, N. Y., a corporation of New York Application May 14, 1947, Serial No. 748,086
1 Claim. 1
The present invention relates to a new and distinct variety of hybrid tea rose plant, resulting from "the crossing of the variety Flambeau (P1. Pat. #374) and an unidentified Flambeau seedling '(unpatented).
The dominating distinctions of this new rose reside in the velvety, vibrant deep red color of its flowers, a very much deeper color than the parent Flambeau; the high centered form of the flowers with petals which reflex perfectly; and the characteristic strong veining on the inside of the petals.
The bush is a vigorous grower, hardy and extremely free blooming, with foliage (old) having characteristic markings of Oxblood Red color on the under side.
Asexual reproduction of this new variety shows the foregoing characteristics come true to form and are established.
The accompanying drawing illustrates the distinctive characteristics of the flowers at different stages of development and specimens of the young and old foliage.
The following is a detailed description of the new variety, color terminology being in accord- .ance'with Ridgways Color Standard:
