Description

Jan. 8, 1963 R. V. LINDQUIST ROSE PLANT Filed March 27, 1962 Plant Pat. 2,214
United States Patent C M 2,214 ROSE PLANT Robert V. Lindquist, Hemet, Califi, assignor to Hemet Wholesale, Hemet, Califl, apartnership Filed Mar. 27, 1962, Ser. No. 182,983 1 Claim. (CI. 47-61) The present invention relates to a new and distinct variety of rose plant of the hybrid tea class, which was originated by meby crossing the variety Tiifany" (Plant Patent No. 1,304) with the variety Cavalcade (Plant Patent No. 991).
As the result of this breeding, I have produced a new rose variety which is particularly characterized as to novelty by the following unique combination of characteristics which are outstanding therein and which distinguish it from its parents, as well as from all other varieties of which I am awarea- (1) Distinctive foliage which is characterized by having wrinkled edges which give the foliagea holly-like appearance;-and i (2') A distinctive, attractive and unique blend'o-f flower colors which ,create a multi-color effect different from any other rose known inco'mmerce.
.Asexual reproduction of my new variety bybudding,
as performed at Hemet, California, shows that the foregoing characteristics and distinctions come true to form and are established and transmitted through succeeding propagations. I
- The accompanying drawing shows typical specimens of the vegetative growth and flowers of my new variety in different stages of development and as depicted in color asnearly true as it is reasonably possible to make the same in a color illustration of this character.
The following is a detailed description of my new 35 variety, with color terminology in accordance with Robert' F. Wilsons Horticultural Colour Chart (hereinafter abbreviated as Wilson) and Ridgways Color Standar-ds and Nomenclature (hereinafter abbreviated as lRidgway), as indicated:
