The primary objective of this breeding was to produce a new chrysanthemum variety in which there is combined the large bloom size and early blooming habit of the unnamed seedling parent, with the vigorous plant habit and size of the parent variety Orchard Oriole. This objective was fully achieved, along with other improvements, as evidenced by the following unique combination of characteristics which are outstanding in the new variety and which distinguish it from its parents as well as from all other varieties of which I am aware:

Asexual reproduction of my new variety by both top cuttings and underground runners, as performed at Newark, New York, shows that the foregoing characteristics and distinctions come true to form and are established and transmitted through succeeding propagations.
The accompanying drawing shows typical specimens of the vegetative growth and flowers of my new variety in different stages of development, and as depicted in color as nearly true as it is reasonably possible to make the samein a color illustration of this character, as well as a typical specimen plant which is depicted in blackand white, as illustrative of the form and habit of growth of the plant. i
