Abstract
A new and distinct cultivar of Petunia plant named ‘PET0607’, characterized by its mounding and compact plant habit; freely branching growth habit; green foliage; and numerous pure white colored flowers that are weather tolerant.
Description
Botanical designation: Petunia×hybrida.
Cultivar denomination: ‘PET0607’.
The present Invention relates to a new and distinct cultivar of Petunia plant, botanically known as Petunia×hybrida, and hereinafter referred to by the cultivar name ‘PET0607’.
The new Petunia originated from a conventional cross of proprietary Petunia selections, ‘PET0480’ (the female parent; not patented) and ‘PET0491’ (the male parent; not patented) conducted on the 10th day of May 2004 in a cultivated area of Aquebogue, N.Y. Seeds from this cross were planted and the individual plant known as ‘PET0607’ was selected because of its combination of exceptional features, and has been propagated asexually by vegetative cuttings since that time. The unique features of this new Petunia are stable and reproduced true to type in successive generations.
Plants of the cultivar ‘PET0607’ have not been observed under all possible environmental conditions. The phenotype may vary somewhat with variations in environment such as temperature and light intensity without, however, any variance in genotype.
The following traits have been repeatedly observed and are determined to be the unique characteristics of ‘PET0607’. These characteristics in combination distinguish ‘PET0607’ as a new and distinct cultivar:

- 1. Mounding and compact plant habit.
- 2. Freely branching growth habit.
- 3. Numerous, weather resistant pure white flowers.
Plants of the new Petunia differ from the parent plants in growth habit and form.
The accompanying colored photographs illustrate the overall appearance of the new cultivar, showing the colors as true as it is reasonably possible to obtain in colored reproductions of this type. Colors in the photographs may differ slightly from the color values cited in the detailed botanical description, which accurately describe the colors of the new Petunia.

The photograph on the second sheet comprises a close-up view of typical leaves and flowers of ‘PET0607’.
The aforementioned photographs and following observations and measurements describe plants grown in Aquebogue, N.Y., under commercial practice during the spring and summer in a polyethylene covered greenhouse with day temperatures averaging 22 degrees C., night temperatures averaging 17 degrees C., and light levels ranging from 9,000 to 12,000 lux. Plants were grown for about 16 weeks in 25 cm containers. In the following description, color references are made to The Royal Horticultural Society Colour Chart, 2001 Edition, except where general terms of ordinary dictionary significance are used.
