'DESIGN FOR L-ICORICE STICK.
9,741, dated February 13, 1877 application tiled February 5, 1877. [Term of Patent 14 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, HENRY T. JARRETT, WILLIAM G. CONRAD, and FERDINAND H. RENZ, of the city, county, and State of New York, have originated .a new Design for Licorice Sticks, of which the following is a specification:
rllhis design relates to a new and original design for licorice sticks, and consists in a stick having a series of annular parallel grooves formed in it, thereby dividing the same into a series of sections or parts, imparting to the stick a novel and distinguishing appearance.
The drawings represents two elevations of the licorice stick, Figure l showing the sticks divided into sections of equal size; and Fig. 2 showing the stick divided into sections of different sizes.
Referring to the drawings, A represents the the licorice stick divided into a series of sections or parts by annular V-shaped grooves a a. The stick may be divided by said grooves into sections of the same size, as shown in Fig. l, or into sections of dili'erent or unequal size, as shown in Fig. 2.
By means of parallel grooves an ornamental, novel, and distinguishing appearance is im parted'to the stick,and the sectionsformed by the grooves can be readily and evenly broken oli, as required.
What we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a licorice stick, consisting of a stick having a series of circular grooves, a, formed in the body of' the stick, and running parallel to each other, as shown and described.
