JULIUS F. QUIMBY, OF TROY, NE YORK, ASSIGNOR TO SW'ETT, QUIMB'Y & PERRY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR STOVE-DOOR KNOB.
Specification forming part of Design No. 8,558, dated August 3, 1875; application liled May 21, 1575.
[Term of Patent 7 years.]
To all whom it may concern:
30 it known that I, JULIUS F. QUDIBY, of the city of Troy, in the county of ltensselaer and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Doonlinobs for Stoves and Ranges, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photographic representation, in which Figure 1 is a front end or face view of a knob embodying my said new design, and attached to a door of a stove or range; and Fig. 2 is a sidelong view of the same, like parts being marked by like letters in both figures.
One part of this invention consists of the design for the large outer portion of the face of the knob, irrespective of its central part, the same being in the general form of a very obtuse truncated six-sided pyramid, and composed of the six straight-edged plain bars a, of equal length around the base or largest part, the flat, plain circular ring 1) around the top or smaller part, the six plain straightedged bars 0 along the angles of the pyramid from the angles in the bars a to the circular ring I), and the six depressed trapezoidal panels (1, having pitted surfaces, and inelosed by the parts a, b, and c, all shaped and disposed so as to appear substantially as represented in the aforesaid photograph.
My invention further consists of the design for the whole face of thcknob, the same being composed of the central circular convex part 6, the immediately surrounding ring I), and the outside hexagonal pyramidal portion, all shaped and combined so as to appear substantially as shown in the aforesaid photographic representation.
The design for the door of a stove or range represented in the aforesaid photograph is not of my invention.
What I claim as my invention is- 1. The design for the outer portion of the face of the knob, composed of the bars a, ring 1), bars 0, and panels (I, all shaped and arranged together substantially as set forth.
The design for the face of a knob, com posed of the central circular convex part c, the surrounding ring I), and the outside pyramidal portion, all shaped and combined substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand this 19th day of May, 1875.
JULIUS F. QUIMBY.
