Specification forming part of Design No. 7.788, dated October 6, 1874; application filed August 28, 1574.

Be it known that I, ALEXANDER L. RUNYON, of New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented a new Design for Key; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the acconipa-nying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawings constitutes part of this specification, and represent, in

Figure 1, a perspective view, and in Fig. 2 a transverse section, through the spindle.

This invention relates to a design for key for door-locks, the peculiar feature of the design being the shape of the spindle between the bit and bow; and it consists in making that portion of the key square in transverse section, with two opposite angles in vertical line with or in the plane of the how.

A is the hit, B the bow, of substantially the usual form. The part (3 of the spindle is square in transverse section, as seen in Fig. 2, two opposite angles in vertical line with the how.
