Yall whom it may concerna' 4 Be it known that we, GEORGE V. STRAHAN and FREDERICK V. MATHIEU, citizens of the United States of America, and residents, respectively, of the city of Newark, county of Essex, and State of New Jersey, and of the borough of Manhattan, city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for the Surface ornamentation for a Lamp Shade or Similar Article, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof. 7
The single figure of the drawing is a pro jected plan View of a portion of a shade for a lighting fixture showing our new design applied thereto. The design is intended for the surface ornamentation of an article of manufacture such as the shade referred to and may be applied thereto by etching, printing, painting, embossing or in any other suitable manner and the material to which it is applied may be of any suitable character such as transparent or translucent glass, paper, fabric or other material.
