DESIGN FOR A CARPET-PATTERN.

Specification forming part of Design No. 5,645, dated March 12, 1872.

To all @cham it may concern Be it known th at I, ARTHUR MAZEPPA KING, of Kidderminster, county of Vorcester, England, have invented a new and original De sign for Carpets; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being' had to the accompanying photographie illustration, forming part of the speeilieation.

This invention relates to a new design of the main center iigureA of a carpet, the same being of the peculiar outline and ornamented in the middle, as shown, and also embraced by an ornamental border, a, of bold and rich design. The invention also consists in the new l design of a cross-shaped figure, B, substantinlly as shown; and finally, too, in a new design of the ornamental scroll O, which forms the ground-work of the carpet.

I claim as my invention- 1. The design of the ligure A, as shown.

2. The design of the figure B, as shown.

3. The design of the serolLwork C, as shown.

4. The design for a carpet containing the figures A B and scroll-work C, as shown.
