Specification for Design.
Patented Nov. 11, 1919.
Application filed August 4, 1919. Serial No. 315,324, Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HAROLD ED\VARD Noon, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newburyport, in the county of Essex and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Handle for Spoons or Analogous Articles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing.
In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 is a View of the front of a spoon showing the new design; and Figs. 2 and 3 are cross-sections of the handle taken on the dot and dash lines 22 and 3-3 respectively on Fig. 1-
My new design, as illustrated in the drawing, is embodied in a handle having the general characteristics as to cross-section including the side bevels a, and as to outline including the decoration b at the tip of the handle and shoulders 0 below it, as is disclosed in my prior co-pending application Ser. No. 309,518, filed July 8, 1919, the pres ent design being an extension and amplification of the prior design, effecting an elaboration of the original invention.
In my new design the handle forming the subject-matter of said prior application has embodied therein the chased decoration (Z on the surface of the bevel a, said decoration starting above the shoulders c at the end of the handle in a manner to merge into and form substantially a continuation of the tip decoration b and extending down the handle below the shoulders, part Way toward the neck 6 of the handle.
I claim:
The ornamental design for a handle for spoons or analogous articles consisting of a tip decoration, shoulders below said decoration, side bevels, and a chased decoration on said bevels, substantially as shown and described, or any colorable imitation thereof.
