EDVARD P. WOODS, AND DANIEL SHERYOOD, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A TABLE'CASTER.
Specification forming part of Design No. 5,131, dated July 1S, 1871.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, UYRUS H. LATIIAM, of Lowell, in the county of Middlesex and Starte` of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a` Table-Caster, of which the following` is a specification:

The bottom part or base A of the caster is iliade of wire, formed up in a machine iii the inaniier particularly described in the Letters Patent No. 113,779 granted to nie April 1h', 1871, to which reference is iii-ade. 1t is then bent to the desired shape upon a mandrel, and a iiut, a, screw-threaded, is east to tlie ends, where they are contracted to foi-1n the upper part of the base A. The handle B is made ot wire, bent into the forin shown, and the foinl ends are united to a nietal collar, b, cast to and around them, from which a screw projects, eut to correspond with the thread in the nut a. The ring C is niade with the desired nuniber of bottle-rings c secured to it and to the center plate D by the straps d, o1' by any similar fastenings that will hold thein firmly together. The plate D is made with a hole in the center, surrounded by a circular washer on the under side of sufficient thickness to forin a good bearing for the plate to turn upon. When the handle B and base A are screwed together a space is left between the upper face of tlie nut ci and the under surface of the collar b, so that the plate D, though held between them, is free to revolve around the serew upon the eollar b. These three parts-base, handle, and bottle-rings-are dipped iii a bath separately to eoat theni with a substance that shall be non-eorrosive. The outer ring; and those holding' the bottles niay be iliade each of a wire ring` wound with siniiller wire to oi'iiaiiieiit or give addition-.il strength to tliein, or the) inay be iliade of plain wire. The handle inay also be iii-ade iii the saine inaiiiier; and 1 elaiin the right to inake siieh inoditieatioiis, so long as. 1 retain the saine eoiilguration or shape of easter.
1 claim- The design for a` table-easter, substantially as shown and described in the accompanying drawing.
