To aZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that LFRANK J. GRESSLY, a citi zen of the United States, residing at the city of New York, (Brooklyn,)- county of Kings, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Match- Box Holders, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a new and original design for match-box holders and similar articles; and it consists in the configuration and ornamentation substantially as shown in the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which Figure 1 is a side elevation, and Fig. 2 an end view.
The article comprises two sides A A and a bottom piece B. Generally the form of the article per se is conventional, except that the side pieces are given a new shape in outline, substantially as shown.
The exterior surface of the side pieces A A are ornamented in relief by producing the following figures thereon:
At 1 is a central oval panel defined by the band 2, above which isthe cherubic head 3 and below which is the shell-like figure 4. The surface outline of the part A on the exterior is defined by the band 5, intercepted at the top and bottom by the ornamental figures 6 7, on each side of which figures, at the top and bottom, are ornamentations 8 9, the parts 9 forming continuations of the curved bands 10, extending inwardly from the outer band 5 to the band 2, as shown.
Between the bands 5 10 are floral ornaments 11.
The ground of the parts A have a stippled effect.
I claim The design for a match-box holder, or simi lar article, substantially as shown and described.
