DESIGN FOR A BICYCLE-FRAME.

SPECIFICATION' forming part of Design No. 26,589, dated February 2, 1897.

Application filed September 16, 1896. Serial No. 606,057.' Term of patent 14 years.

The accompanying drawing illustrates my design.

The leading feature of iny design consists in a bicycle-fra1ne having a continuons, nnbroken, curved outline.

A represents the steering-head of a bicycle, and B the frame. Starting at the point a, the frame curves gradually downwardly, as at a', to a point somewhat in rear of the crankhanger b, and then npwardly'to the point c, so as to mark approximately a semicircle. From the point` c the frame curves downwardly,

i merging in an approximately vertical portion d. At the lower end of the portion d the 'frame is curved rather abruptly, as at e, and then the frame extends upwardlyin the fcrrn of an easy compound curve, as atf, the upper end of part j' being attached to the steering-head. The parts a and f are connected together in advance of the part e of the -franie by brazing, the brazed portion being preferably cov ered by a clip g. y Y

The rear portion of the frame is bifnrcated for the reception of the rear wheel, the axle of which is mounted in brackets secured to the frame.
