DESIGN FOR A JEWEL-CASKET.
Application filed April 20. 1893- Serial No. 471.220. Term of patent 3%- years.
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JEAN LOUIs .liOUL-AY, merchant, a citizen of the Republic of France, residing at 23 Rue des Filles du Calvaire, Paris, France, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Jewel-Caskets, (for which I have obtained Letters Patent in France, dated January 14, 1893, No. 3,071,) of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a front elevation ofa jewel casket made in accordance with my design, the casket being closed. Fig. 2 is a similar view, the lid of the casket being raised.
My design for jewel caskets, comprising a body, base and cover, forms the representation of a caravel floating upon a conventional representation of billows supported upon a Patented in France January 14, 1893, No. 3,071.

The superstructure or deck to which the rigging, &c., is attached, is so arranged with relation to the hull of the caravel as to at times disclose an aperture or receptacle-like compartment contained therein, as shown in Fig. 2.
I claim The design for a jewel casket, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my design I have signed my name, in presence of two witnesses, this 6th day of April, 1893.
