DESIGN FOR A BADGE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,790, dated August 23, 1892.

Application filed June 7, 1892. Serial No. 435,900. Term of patent 3% years.

To all whom, it may concern.-

Be it known that I, GEORGE BUCKLAND RAND, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dubuque, in the county of Dubuque and State of Iowa, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Badge, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part hereof.

The figure is a representation of the same.

My newly-designed badge consists of a ribbon or other suitable material of the shape and ornamentation substantially as shown therein, the said ornamentation comprising an American flag unfurled, the staifof which, commencing from the left-hand corner, coineident with the extended dart x, (which projects outward at an angle from the ribbon, serving as a projection to the said staff,) will extend in an inclined position to a point on 20 the right-hand side about midway of the length of the ribbon. A like dart, as an offset thereto, projects in an opposite direction from the opposite side of the said ribbon. To the left of the lower end of the said staff also 25 appear the double circles Z T, the enter one Z occupying the space between the staff (with the exception of a slight margin) and the left side, the inner circle T containing the picture of a caravel or ship of the fifteenth century, 0 substantially as shown in the drawing.
