FLOWER BASEL. Nb.21,044. 'Patented Sept.15.1891.
UNITED STATES CHRISTIAN A. PETERS,
PATENT OFFICE.
O [Il Cl N CIN NATI, OI IIC).
DESIGN FOR A FLOWER-EASEL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,044, dated September 15, 1891.
Application filed June 12, 1891- Serial 110.396,041, Term of patent 3% years.
To all wwn it may concern.,
Be it known that I, CHRISTIAN A. PETERS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Chio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for an Ornamental Flower-Easel; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.
My invention relates to a design for easels when they are specially prepared with ornamental supports or receivers adapted to receive flowers, and easel and such ornamental Supports or receivers so arranged that when the latter are filled with liowers the whole presents a harmonious and pleasing design. The construction of this latter may be better understood by reference to the accompanying drawing, in which the same is illustrated in a perspective View.
The leading feature of my design consists of an easel composed of square or rectangular bars forming in front elevation a substantially rectangular frame provided at its upper and lower cross-bars with beveled boxes and at the upright bars with S-shaped ornamental brackets, which boxes and brackets form receivers and supports for Howe-rs.
These receivers and supports consist of boxes 5 and S, supported on and between the front standards 1 1 of the easel, vases 11 11, supported on brackets 10, resting in sockets 9 9, also on the front standards, and chains 13, connecting the front standards 1 1 to the rear standard 2. The boxes are filled with earth and fiowers, while flower-pots 12 12 may be set in vases 11 11. The chains are principally intended to support winding plants. The vases may, however, as well be filled with cut or artificial flowers.
During the winter the easel may be taken into the house and serve as a very appropriate parlor ornament, while inthe mild season of the year it is bestleft outside on a veranda or lawn, for instance, forming thus a substitute for the flower-bed, with the additional advantage of being removable as such.
Having described my design, I claim as newrlhe design for an ornamental fioWer-easel, as herein described and shown.
In testimony whereof I affix lny slgnatu re in presence of two witnesses.
CHRISTIAN A. PETERS.
