The characterizing feature of our design resides in the combination on a lighter of the configuration disclosed of a windguard assembly having imperforate shield portions disposed so as to partially overlap a sparkwheel assembly, said shield members being slotted at the lower extremities thereof to allow portions of an adjustable flame control wheel to protrude therethrough, all as shown.

The dominant features of our design for a cigarette lighter reside in the combination of having side and end elevations that are substantially rectangular in configuration while being provided with rounded corners, a cap that is hingedly mounted to the main body portion so that the break point between the cap and main body portion is located high at a point that is approximately three-fourths of the total height of said lighter, the top of the cap and the outer edge of the cap and the continuing edge of the main body portion opposite from said hingeable mounting References Cited by the Examiner UNITED STATES PATENTS 2,780,085 2/1957 Perlin. 2,847,843 8/ 1958 Greenhouse et al 677.1 3,143,871 8/1964 Schmitz 677.1
