DESIGN FOR A FABRIC.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,073, dated August 5, 1890.
Application filed May 26, 1890. Serial No. 353,266. Term of patent 7 years.
.To all whom it may concern.:
Be it known that I, JOSEPH BRANSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings andv State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Fabrics,of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to soeallcd cardigan or ribbed goods; and the leading feature of l'ny new design consists in ellipticalshaped open-Work ligures on the surface of the fabric forred by the surface-ribs.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in both the figures.
Figure 1 shows a plan view of the open- Work surface of my newly-designed fabric,
and Fig. 2 is a similar view Of the opposite surface of the fabric.
The fabricAshoWs on one surface the ribs a c', forming elliptical-shaped open-work iig ures B B upon the body C of the fabric, which appears within said figures. The said ribs show at their Outer surface a chain or cardigan stitch c, the opposite surface of the fabric comprising the straight cardigan ribs d, as clearly shown in Fig. 2.
