No. 19,431. Patented Nov. 19,1889.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
\VILLIAM P. BETTENDORF, OF DAVENPORT, IOWA.
DESIGN FOR A WHEEL-HUB.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,431, dated November 19, 1-889.
Application filed August 14, 1889. Serial "No. 320,781. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, WILLIAM P. BETTEN- DORF, of Davenport, in the county of Scott and State of Iowa, have invented and produced a new and original Design for VVh'eel- Hubs, of which the following is a specification.
My design is fully represented in the accompanying drawings, in which Figures 1 and 2 are perspective views of a hub, viewed from opposite sides.
Referring to the drawings, A represents a tubular portion of practically-cylindrical form; B, a disk-like portion extending radially outward from the part A; C, an annular portion or flange extending laterally from the outer edge of the portion B, concentric with the central cylinder, and D are sockets extending outwardly in radial lines beyond the flange 0. Radial openings extend lengthwise through these sockets and through the flange C to its inner face, as shown.
E is an annular flange or enlargement at one end of the cylindrical part A. This flange is not, however, of the essence of my invention. The essential features are the tubular part A, the flanges B (J, and the outwardlyextending sockets, substantially as shown.
what I claim is The design herein described for a wheelhub, comprising as its essential features the parts A B O D, substantially as shown.
In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand, this 27th day of J nly, 1889, in the presence of two attesting witnesses.
WILLIAM P. BETTENDORF.
