SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 18,927, dated February 12, 1889. Application filed December 6, 1888. Serial No. 292,835. Term of patent 14 years.
To (LZZ whom it may concern.-
lie it known that I, SPENCER SPooNEn, a eitizen of the United States. residing in the city of Brooklyn, county of Kings. and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Knitted Fabrics, of which the foilmving is a specification, ref orenee being had to the aeooinpanying drawings, forming part thereof, and in which Figure 1 is a face view of a piece of fabrie showing my new design. Fig. 2 is a similar View on an enlarged scale, showing the loops or stitches of the fabric.
The letter A in the drawings represents my new and original design, which is composed of a series of alternating rholnboids, a b, the rhomboids a appearing to the eye to be a lighter shade than the rhomboids I). As shown, the sides of a light rhomboid, a, lie against the sides of a darker rholnboid, b, producing the peculiar eifeet shown. Each rhomboid contains a series of short projecting rows of ribs, d d.
