Specification forming part of Design No. 1 1,460, dated October 14, 1879; application filed September 13, 1879.
[Term of patent 14 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known thatI, WILLIAM R.OS1RANDER, of New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have originated and invented a new and useful Design for Speaking- Tubes; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification.
Figure 1 is a representation of a face of my speaking-tube, and Fig. 2 is a side-elevation view of the same.
The nature of the present invention consists in a design for a speaking-tube whistle, as shown and set forth.
Beferrin g by letter to the drawings, A designates an octagonal-shaped casing, and B a bell-mouthed mouth-piece at one end of the casin g A.
The part B is smaller at its connection with the casingA than the diameter of said casing, and expands away from the same, substantially as shown. The sides of easing A are ornamented by rectangular figures formed by the inner and outer borders, 0 a.
Within the spaces formed by the inner borders, c, are formed figures a shaped like a Mat tese cross, somewhatelongated. The lines or borders (l form plain parallelograms, and the lines 0 parallelograms opening at their ends into smaller like figures.
\ Vhat I claim is A design for a speaking-tube comprising the octagonal-shaped easing A, provided with the rectangular figures formed by the inner and outer borders, 0 to, having within the borders c the elongated Maltese crosses a, and the bell-mouthed part B, substantially as specitied.
